DGL Licorice

Bought this product for my teenager who has been dealing with GERD essentially from birth. Trying to get her off over the counter and prescription acid reflex meds. We've been researching mastic gum, zinc-L-Carnosine, marshmellow root, and DGL Licorice. So far, the DGL Licorice has had the most dramatic sustained effect for her. It took probably 2-3 weeks to start seeing a difference, but she is having dramatically less GERD symptoms overall, in all categories. She takes 2 pills with each meal. They are not small pills, so that was a bit of an issue at first, but she's ok with them now. We will definitely reorder and keep her on these for a long time. The research articles I read indicated the longer participants used DGL Licorice, the more dramatic GERD symptom improvement is.

Bought this for occasional acid reflux, and haven’t been disappointed with results. Easy to swallow with no bad after-taste, and usually within 15 minutes, I get the relief I need. Great product!

Bought this for my teenage son, the packaging around the bottle looks like Someone printed it out on a home computer…. Other then that seem to be working good I presume.

Arrived quickly-was as expected-happy with purchase

I've been using licorice root tea for many years as a general stomach "fix-up," be it general indigestion, bloating or heart burn. It works well and also has the benefit of being tasty since I do enjoy the taste of licorice. These pills, while being easier and more convenient to take versus tea, don't provide me with the same benefits. The recommended dosage is pretty high -- 2 capsules 3 times per day. That means, at the recommended dose, the bottle of 100 will only last about 17 days. That doesn't make it a very good value. The capsules are of reasonable size and not too difficult to swallow. While the pills helped a bit to settle an upset stomach, it took longer and was not as effective as licorice tea (or a combo of licorice and ingredients such as ginger or peppermint). I do see it as being worthwhile for those who don't care for the taste of licorice since the capsules have no discernible taste. I also did not encounter any side effects from usage. But, if you're looking for max effectiveness, give the licorice tea a try. Three stars.

I tend to have trouble with irritated vowels and bloating and these seemed to help. I've only been taking them for a few days so I'm not sure about how much they will help long term but so far so good. They do have a faint smell of licorice (and I do not like licorice) but not enough to be bothersome. The capsule doesn't allow you to taste the licorice so that's a plus, I saw reviews that mentioned the flavor but my guess is that they are not swallowing the pills since they do not have a taste at all. Overall very nice product and that's coming from someone who dislikes licorice flavored anything.
