To say that my pooch Ivory flipped out when I first unpacked this would be an understatement. She went nuts chasing it around, making it squeak, nibbling on it, and (I think) trying to find its butt...there was a lot of investigation going on around the poor hedgehog's rear end, anyway.Heck, just that five or ten minutes of joy was worth the price of this to me, but she stills plays with it after having it for over a month. I don't see her play with it every day, but she'll definitely get back into it from time to time. Definitely worth the cost.Btw, it really is a plush toy, being nice and soft without any hard or sharp edges anywhere. The one thing that I got rid of pretty quickly was a little threaded loop in the middle of the back that was there perhaps to hang it up. I didn't want Ivory to snag a tooth on it as she was flinging it around.Two big thumbs up!

Let me state right away that my dog (a 55 lb Aussiedoddle) is gentle with her toys so a toy that is durable for her may not be durable for other dogs. She carries this toy everywhere and demands me to throw it for a game of fetch, yet it has not been torn. It's really cute that she sleeps with it every night. There is a large sized squeaker inside - like an entire squeaky toy. This makes the hedgehog more fun for her because she likes squeaking it. I like this feature. I should probably purchase a second one just in case this one wears out.

My criteria for a good stuffed dog toy is it keeping most of its stuffing for the first hour after giving it to my dog, which this did. Good size for medium or larger dogs. Has a satisfying squeak (perhaps better described as a honk) and doubles as a sleepy dog pillow on occasion. I'd prefer to award this 4.5 stars, well-made though not quite as durable as a rare few other stuffed sacrifices my dog has tested through the years. Four understates its quality somewhat, but I don't think it's quite a five either.

This hedgehog toy is cute and looks well made. My dog is not the toy-destructive type, though, so she hasn't tried to tear it up. She is a 21 lb terrier mix and the toy is a little big for her mouth but she figured out how to bite and squeak it. The squeaker is a good size inside the toy and is easy to find and squeak. My dog has a lot of smaller toys so this larger hedgehog (9 inch) toy provides variety in her collection.

My dog is 11 years old, she still has toys from when she was a puppy, she doesn't tear them up. However, this toy got a nice hole in it after 5 days!! She loved the size, which I was afraid would be too large for her, and she loved the odd sounding squeaker...but it literally lasted for less than a week. Other than some gnawed ears and feet, she still has toys from when she was younger, no holes. Guess I'll sew this up one time, but if it gets another hole, it'll have to go. Shame because she really does love it.

We call him Henry and Rissa thinks he is the very best. I will be ordering another Henry in the near future so that his squeakers wear out she will have a replacement.Update- Yesterday I noticed that Rissa was no longer paying any attention to Henry. I picked him up, squeezed him but no squawk. Henry lost his voice so I will not be re-ordering another since if the squeaker is only lasting a couple of days it will be another waste of money. I am very disappointed the squeaker is so short lived.5 stars for a cute toy- 0 stars for the squeaker.

I have purchased this hedgehog multiple times because it's my dog's favorite toy. It holds up well but he's an older dog and just like to carry it around.

This is my great danes absolute favorite toy. The key feature is the unique sound this Hedgehog makes in addition to the standard squeaker. It's the only time she's ever hard on, but the fur holds up quite well for a while. I usually purchase a couple at a time so that I have one for backup. Can't think of anything that could be done differently to make it longer lasting. It's just too much of a favorite to be that sustainable.
