Awersome phone for the very hard of hearing person.
Incredible phone for the nearly deaf. I have 75% to 85% hearing loss in both ears. I can take a call on these phones without having my hearing aids in my ears, and hear the person on the other end very clearly 90% of the time. And for the other 10% of the people, there is a big black button you can press and then even they can be heard easily. The speaker phone is not as well boosted, and the big black boost button does nothing to the speaker phone volume, but much of the time, it is loud enough to be useful when its needed. I have spent double the money on amplified phones and not been able to hear on them. So this is my favorite phone ever now. I have 2 of these. Also, the ringer is very loud. There is also a flashing l;ight on the side of the phone when it rings. The caller ID is larger than most are, which makes it easily enough for me to read when I do not have my glasses on too.

No mute button despite a speaker function?!? I'm disappointed.
I needed certain features, such as noise control to minimize line static, control over tones so I can hear voices better, and a speaker phone option to listen in on work meetings. I found all these in this phone, so I paid much more than for a basic home office phone. As I set it up at home, I couldn't find a mute button. I never thought to check for this upfront, as who had heard of a speakerphone without a mute button??? Well here it is. The phone is pretty much useless to me now as I can't use it for my home office as the folks on the other end will here me on the computer as I take notes, rustling papers, and general household noise. I'm very disappointed.

Amplified phone for hearing impaired
New-High definition amplified CID phone - SI-HD-65 was purchased for an individual with severe hearing loss bilaterally. It is a relatively simple to use product without frills that has proven to be helpful for most phone calls. It has improved peception and ability to talk on the phone using the speaker mode as it allow binaural hearing and recruitment of both ears.

Crystal unclear
Amazing waste of money. Yes it is loud, but the sound is so distorted, it is useless. Anything but crystal clear. Will shatter your eardrums but will not understand a thing. Technically, the receiver has a peak between 2 and 3 kHz with steep attenuation at higher and lower frequencies. Engineers who designed it should be deeply ashamed. Amazing how this garbage ever received any good review.

I liked the phone well enough
I liked the phone well enough. It performed as I wanted it to, in fact I bought two. However, I accidentally spilled a little liquid on the keypad, making a few keys sticky upon initial touch. Otherwise, it continued to work OK. Finally I decided to return it to the factory for repair. Of all people, they should know how to do it correctly. After the "sticker shock" of pay for the return postage, I had invested nearly 1/2 the price of a new phone into this repair. But I did so as I talked with the "factory" about possibly replacing the complete keypad assembly. After a few weeks, including some after repair testing, the phone was returned to me. And the keys still are somewhat sticky. The factory tried to clean - and not replace the keypad. Disappointing.

excellent phone
I strongly recommend this amplified phone for people with hearing loss. I had mostly stopped making overseas calls to my family back in the UK because was so hard to hear clearly on a normal amplified phone due to sound distortion, even though loud enough and also the echo effect. This phone pretty much eliminates those prblems. Also due to the high definition sound it makes regular local calls much clearer too. The only thing I didn't need was the large numbers since I have perfectly good eyesight ! But I guess you could say that the phone covers all bases !

Beware!
This telephone is far too complicated for casual use and the constant talk coming from the speaker is extremely annoying. It even talks if you nudge the unit accidentally and it even talks after you hang up. In spite of the high price I paid for this phone I'm going to junk it.
