Numbers don't show
The lock is different from the photo. The numbers are black on black. They aren't on bronze part as shown. You basically memorize where your code is, since you can't see it. Hard to change code. You have to rearrange the numbers by taking out cylinders. Not that easy and fast to install. Not that it's installed, it's fine.

Great quality and appears to be made in Japan.
I wanted a password-functioning deadbolt that did not require batteries and a deadbolt for double doors. The electric deadbolts would not operate correctly with double doors, and the batteries do not seem to last too long, but this lock works perfectly. I highly recommend watching the installation video. With a power screwdriver, it took me about 20 minutes to remove the old lock and install this lock. The lock itself is of great quality and appears to be made in Japan. I will be buying more of these locks in the future. It is a relief that I do not need to worry about batteries.

I'm really pleased with the lock itself
Firstly, the lock itself is very solid. I'm really pleased with the lock itself. The paint chipped off in a couple places, but I was really rough on it. A quick spray with matching paint and it was all better. Aside from that, configuring the lock and the instructions are all very straightforward. My installation, however, was complex. I wanted to install this lock on a 3-inch thick gate. The gate had a steel frame and redwood boards. 1.5in of each. so 3in in total. This item will not support a 3-in door/gate. I knew that upon purchase and had already contacted lockey for an extension kit. They sell one just for this application and will support up to a 5-in door/gate.Lockey support is awesome! I spoke with them a few times and emailed back and forth. they directed me to the appropriate extension kit. that is the 2000/3000 Series Extension Kit here: [...] and they recommended the appropriate lubricant here: [...]. i ended up buying the aerosol can on amazon and it worked fine. so I bought the extension kit and couldn't sort how to install it still. I felt like I was missing a part...I called Lockey again and explained what I was trying to do to customer support. He acknowledged that I had purchased the EZ model as I didn't have the support pin. And the EZ model doesn't come with the hex bolts, that the extension kit requires. So Lockey sent me the required hex bolts and rubber flanges at no charge. I received them in a couple days. I didn't want to use the rubber flanges as i liked the metal ones better. They just collected less dirt and seemed cleaner. However, the non-EZ installation was not designed for them. So i had to bore out the holes in the metal so the hex bolts would fit through them and purchase extra long m4 .7 machined screws. I found ones that were 2in in length which was perfect for the installation. This let me securely install the flanges. The EZ kit is designed to be used without hex bolts. Just simply screws from one end of the door to the other. Make sure you are aware of this before purchase. the EZ model is designed for a very simple door installation without extension. hence the "EZ" :)Honestly, the biggest challenge for me was drilling holes in the steel gate frame and posts. I had to make several cuts and I had never done this before and making it all fit was tricky as a first timer. Nothing to do with the lock though as it performed just fine. Now I have it all installed on a thick gate outside and I expect it will last for years.

Perfect! Wish I'd bought it 10 years ago.
If you have a door with windows, and need a double sided deadbolt lock this is the ticket! Easy to use. Not tough to install. My kids are thrilled that they don't have to remember to take their keys, and can get in the house even if they forgot to keep their phones charged. All our exterior doors have windows. We felt it was dangerous to have to find a key to open the door from the inside (and in some parts of the country that's even against the fire code.) As compared to an electronic lock, the cons are you can only have one code at a time, and you can't hook up to the internet. But we couldn't find an electronic keyless version that had a double sided option for less than $800, so thought we'd give this mechanical lock a try.As it turns out, we LOVE that it never needs batteries. And, this lock is EXTREMELY SOLID. I mean solid in the way that this thing is going to last 50-100 years. We'll need a new door before we'd ever need a new lock. Setting the code was easy, and changing the code would be easy too. You can choose to have the same code or different codes for the inside and outside. Installation was pretty easy. The lock installed into my existing deadbolt hole (although I had to chisel out a tiny bit the side of the door for the deadbolt plate.) I'm moderately handy, and it took me 2 hours. It would have taken me less time, but I had to drill out a stripped screw from old lock and I mixed up the A&B panels at first. If I had to install another one (and I'm thinking about it!) I think I could do it in 45 minutes to an hour.)How does it look: I bought the antique brass because I didn't want it to stand out. It looks great from the outside of the house. It looks solid, and not too big, but is on the edge of being "chunky." From the inside, it is pretty hard to read the numbers because the hall area is dark. If I had to do it again, I would buy the bright brass. Not too big a deal, I just used a gold Sharpee to trace the numbers so they are easier to see. After you use it once or twice, you know where the buttons are anyway....but for guests I'd prefer a brighter number.

práctico
excelente para no llevar la llave y no tiene pilas lo que evita que uno se quede sin poder entrar a la casa.
