Rotary Business Card File 400-Card Capacity Black

What can I say about a good old fashioned Rolodex? It works, it fits perfectly on my desk. It is sturdy and does not tip over when I turn the pages. The plastic envelopes hold standard business cards beautifully but I still bought a package of Rolodex Rotary File Card Refills so that I can write my own addresses and phone numbers on them and slip them into the plastic envelopes. The thin paper contained within the plastic envelopes is not really sturdy enough, in my opinion, to use for my own purposes so I bought the standard refills and they fit nicely into the envelopes. Yes, I have my addresses, phone numbers, etc. on my computer and on my iPhone but I like to have business cards handy on my desk so this Rolodex works fine for my needs.

I didn't think I was going to be able to fill this file up with just my personal contacts, but I was surprised. It holds a lot of info for me and I use it often during the week. I mainly use it to hold business cards or business card-sized data sheets, inside the sleeves that hold the cards nicely. You do need to handle the pages carefully; they will not take a lot of punishment, but I am careful with the product and it works well for me. There are obvious drawbacks in using this type of manual system over an automated system; for example, it is not convenient to carry with you wherever you go. The biggest frustration I have is how to alphabetize the information. For example, do I put my friend Jane Doe who is also my hair stylist under J for Jane, D for Doe, H for Hair, or S for Salon? With an automated system you can cross reference an entry, and of course you could do that manually but in this example you would use up 4 times as many pages to do so. So the system has its limitations but it is so convenient to have at hand on one's desk, you live with the pros and cons. I like having the product.

I wanted a Rolodex for business cards and this item served that purpose. There are two issues that detract from its usefulness: 1. The roller mechanism does not easily turn. The cards have to be manually manipulated. 2. The individual sheets easily pull off of the plastic holders so unless one wants to take a card completely off one has to be careful about handling it. I thought that the price of this item would ensure a better quality product.

Pros: holds a lot of business cards; it also seems very sturdy. Cons: it's not always easy to turn which could be a problem if you have arthritis in your hands. Sometimes the roller just spins and you get nowhere. It does come with a lot of plastic card holders, if that's something you need.

Bought this as a replacement for one I had for about twenty years! It is metal and should hold up. Glad I was able to find this as I keep all vendors business cards in it. We own a rental property and own a house. Its amazing how often I need to find a plumber or electrician or power washer. Keeping random phone numbers in my iPhone isn't feazible so this little gem fits the bill. I can flip thru and find a card and helps me find help from someone I wouln't think of looking for on my phome.

I collect a lot of business cards from suppliers in my industry. It’s great to have a compact storage system for these cards. The alphabetized tabs are perfect to organize by contact or company name. Plus, spinning it is really satisfying.

I am old fashioned and like a Rolodex rather than putting everything in a phone. I like this one. My grandchildren had never seen one before.

I am glad this item is available once again. For the many years I worked, it was a very useful way to keep files organized. I now use it for home This unit came with 400 cards with plastic sleeves making it easy for business card filing. Ian
