a Brilliant Update with Gorgeous Graphics... to the Chegrin of Nostaglia Hunters!
Final Fantasy VII Remake was not made shot for shot, please know that is Not what they were intending to do and Square Enix even made that clear in press releases before launch! They changed fighting mechanics, graphics and story... and I as a player of the original FF VII on release day all the way back in 1997, I am greatly appreciative that they did! I think the Remake would have been Doomed for failure had they just done Another Nostalgia bait remaster with better graphics. if you'd like that ... FF VII the remaster is available for download (but polygonal) available on All Platforms... Oh and so too is Skyrim which has released like 6 times all the exact same... but different lol. That said I remember the original polygonal game and chunky dialogue, that seemed to be kinda poorly translated in parts which aided to the feeling of Missing plot, despite replaying the game many times through. ( Only to have other games CC, DoC , and the Advent Children movie released to fill gaps and expand the universe later!)The remake doesn't feel like that! This time they are slowly building story, while throwing you in it just as quickly as the last, and even giving Midgar more feeling of life, giving the game, which feels far better translated, a more rounded or more complete 'set piece' for the Playable characters in the came the game. Each of the other characters, playable and NPC alike seem a little more than just plopped in front of you like they used to. Translations seem smoother, and graphics are sickening... I mean, I'm totally afraid of heights now! Kidding but that was crazy graphics looking out standing under the disc, seeing the slums below!FF VIIR Expands on the story (and makes your stomach churn worryingly in places) if you know it and eases you in if you're new or not too familiar. It changes up some things from the original story... Like Sephiroth's Intro into the game... for certain but mostly for the better... the ghosts of fate are annoying, the ghosts are very annoying! but I know why they are there... and they area better plot device than the alternative...once you play you'll know what I mean.. Slightly frustrated with the lack of Red XIII as a fully playable character... and Yuffie and VIncent are episodes away! The Linear-ness is tough sometimes, But the original was Linear in the first disc as well.. so I'm not gonna complain about that, its' not like FFXIII linear, though they share the same base engine i think.Overall I like the way they try to fill some of the clunkier plot points with something other than Nostalgia Bait, but the ghost are a pain in the neck... not fire this time... just ghosts? Limit Breaks and summons are handled well too, after a while I looked forward to Chadley, that weird little intern. They are really trying to make a fully fleshed out Game with the uphill battle of fanboy-ism. They chose Not to just pander too much, or release the same game over and over with no real improvements ... I SEE you Bethesda! and Unfortunately I think that is what some Fanboys were hoping for, but I think all in all we got something better tho.And the 1st Class Edition... Pricey.. and Gorgeous. Artbook is too small, but in game art-books Always are!! the Lanyard may get a lot of use, and the bonus materia was useful... Hard mode is kinda hard. The fully articulated figure of cloud is Great but honestly ... I have three Versions of Cloud on the Harley Daytona now... Polygonal, Advent and Remake each getting progressively larger. Next will be half life size.. or the size of a child on a golden retriever? It is Super Nice but also kinda predictable... they could have made this figure a Sephiroth one... or Tifa,.. Reno...anyone else.I suggest if I pay $330 for a set like this again... I'm hoping I get Vincent Valentine or Sephiroth or if there is another Cloud Kai figure maybe A Summons instead of a motorcycle?

Not Final Fantsy 7 and definitely not what we wanted
Pros+ It's pretty+ Seeing the city and the characters from all new angles is amazingCons- Dishonest marketing: a reboot not a remake, part 1 of a multipart series- The demo is intentionally misleading, giving the impression that you are replaying FF7- The game does not follow Final Fantasy VII, it's an entirely new and not particularly great story- The world is a hollow shell, filled with empty rooms and corridors, with barely anything to find or interact with- Boring, tedious side quests- Annoying, unsatisfying action-oriented combat- The ATB (battle) system is flawed and fails spectacularly in single combat, especially against bosses- It's just not fun. Nostalgia-inducing characters and places can't make it into a good game

1st Class Edition..
Not real happy with the way squeenix packaged the Hardy Daytona with Cloud.. No window into the box to see what you've got or even verify it's in there intact.. and as anyone knows you open the box and take it out... there goes the collectors value. That being said I've never been one to hesitate from taking them outta the boxes because I dont care about reselling them. It is quite impressive.. much larger scale than I expected it to be. The game itself is obviously the same version everyone got -so Im not going into a lot on that Im sticking more to what this package came with: the Cloud and Hardy Daytona.. a lanyard and a dlc for a cactaur summon. The lanyard and DLC meh -- but the bike with cloud are definitely impressive if you collect the FF Play Arts .. This version on Amazon is extremely high priced though.. I purchased mine directly from Square last February for $350 -
