finally, death to mosquitos
I'm catnip for mosquitos, which makes it difficult to enjoy the outdoors. This product appears to repel mosquitos in lightly wooded areas, when walking briskly, and doesn't smell too awful, too.

It works!
It stinks, a little pricey, but it works!

IT WORKS.
Bought this on whim after reading an article about it in Yankee Magazine.Hiked Mount Moosilauke in NH today, and gave the Fly Dope a trial run. Took an old baseball hat and spritzed the Dope liberally on the bill (and underside) and the crown. From summit back to trailhead, the flies were not an issue - and during the descent our crew walked through clouds of them. I maybe was "brushed" by them - but never bothered. This truly works!

Suggest only spray on clothing/hat, not on your skin
I remember Woodsman Fly Dope from my days hiking, boating, and camping in Main as a youngster. The smell is wonderful...and the repellent works, as in the days of old. But I sprayed this current product on my skin and got quite a rash. Maybe it's just me, but I would advise only putting the Woodsman Fly Dope on your clothing or your hat, as is suggested somewhere in my reading about this product.

Really keeps the pests at bay
Thus spray was advertised in Yankee Magazine. Our black flies and pests are legendary in New England. Really kept the bugs at bay!

Strong, unpleasant odor
I only used a little as it directed, put it on a bandana, not skin. The smell of this stuff is like if a pine tree and a hot tar pit had a baby. It wafts in your nostrils and you can't get the scent out of your sinuses for days.Oh, and it did not keep gnats or mosquitos away either, and is very expensive.

Best on Trail Rides!
We used generic horse fly spray on trail rides for years, but this spray is a game changer. It’s now a barn staple, and we won’t ride without it. Our horses (and their riders) thank you!
