Popular with the birds
These came in a bag that, if not resealable, at least is sturdy. I can roll up the top and close with a bulldog clip, so not too big a deal. Resealable would have been preferable. The birds seem to like this. They show up to eat and most of them let me photograph them. They’re happy. I’m happy. That they are shell-free means they don’t make a mess, so the super is happy. It attracts them to a tree outside my window, where they poop on the soil, fertilizing the tree, so the tree is happy. Happiness all around.A few of the titmice and all of the cardinals are too skittish to do more than grab-and-go, but they’ll learn soon enough it’s a safe place to land and have a meal. At this moment I have 26 birds in that tree doing the grab-and-go routine. I’ve never managed to attract this many birds. This stuff is popular with the avian community.

Expensive, but no shells or food waste
Feed birds. Finches, Capped chickadees, and nut hatches love the mix.A popular blend with my avian friends.

Birds Love This Stuff
We bought a 1.5 gallon feeder for our backyard. I am no expert but I have seen blue birds and what look like finches. We filled the feeder all the way to the top and the food lasted 1.5 days. The birds were obsessed. Other foods were no where near as popular. They ate this stuff up!!

Pricey, But Good Quality
I used to buy sunflower hearts exactly like these from a neighborhood nursery, and those cost less than these from Valley Farms. Still, this is my best alternative now that the nursery has closed. The sunflower hearts are mostly whole. The birds love them for the no-effort eating, and I love them for the lack of mess under the feeder. I place them in a feeder that squirrels have trouble accessing because otherwise they'd be gone in an hour. Goldfinches in particular love these, although all songbirds and woodpeckers also visit.Long ago I decided that sunflower hearts were worth the extra expense since, as long as I can keep the squirrels and chipmunks away, the seeds take longer for the birds to consume. Shells don't take up space, so they get nothing but kernels in the feeder.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

More Birds than Ever!
Shortly after switching from a generic, cheap bird seed to this one, the number of birds at my feeder drastically increased. I guess birds appreciate quality food just like people do. :-)

The birds love these.
We fill our feeders with half hearts and half black oil sunflower seeds. The birds are definitely attracted to this combo and a variety are here every day. The hearts were fresh, which is difficult in this hot weather, and the bag is gone before any mold issues arise. Good purchase.
