Perfect Design for Hold & Cold Wraps
These are the perfect wraps for sport injuries, recovering from surgeries and just occasional aches and pains. First instead of having to store a big wrap in your freezer you need only to put the inserts in to the freezer which saves a ton of space. I'm able to store 4 small (hand/wrist and elbow), 3 medium (knee and back) and one large (hip) in the space of about one large wrap. Second these remain very pliable which helps in forming a nice, comfortable cold area - yet the exterior seems quite sturdy to prevent tears or leaks. Third, the high quality neoprene wraps are comfortable and make it easy to secure to what ever body part you need to treat. Fourth, because you slip the insert into a sleeve in the neoprene wrap, you don't need to bother with a towel or anything else between the cold insert and your skin - the insert offers just enough so that the cold isn't painful but not so much that you can't feel the cold. I'm using one right now on my elbow. Haven't used them for heat yet but I expect them to be just as good for warmth as they are for cold.

Awkward to strap on and short-lived effect, but still a useful and effective product
Out of all the straps, sleeves, and braces I've tried so far, this ActiveWrap is the only thing that seems to have done me some good. After using my injured elbow as delicately as possible for a few hours, I nuked up the hot packs and strapped on this brace. The heat did some real good, and I feel like I am finally on a path toward healing. The fly in the ointment, however, is that this brace is rather hard to strap on, and the heat doesn't last very long. Unstrap, reheat, wrestle; unstrap, reheat, wrestle. It gets old very quickly. After just one day of this, I'm already on Amazon looking to find an electric wrap that runs on house current. I can see the advantage of not being tethered by a cord using this ActiveWrap, but you've got a short leash tethering you to the microwave or (according to other reviews here) the freezer. It's kind of the same difference, isn't it? If I don't come up with anything better, life could be worse. This wrap seems to be made well enough to last for some time, it fits comfortably enough, and the hot/cold packs are of decent quality. For the price, this was in no way a bad investment.

Makes life less painful...
This has been a lifesaver for me. I have tennis and golfers elbow in BOTH arms AND carpal tunnel. Lucky me huh?! There are more expensive versions out there but why pay more? Why I love this is because the 2 ice/heat packs are in sleeves with velcro on the back so you can attach them inside the wrap wherever you need the ice/heat applied. Yes, it's bulky, but if it brings relief..who cares?! I also have learned that leaving the ice packs in the fridge makes them cold enough to relieve the pain. If you put them in the freezer you have to let them sit before putting them in the sleeve because the coldness will 'burn' your skin. To heat them you just put them in a bowl of water in the micro for a minute or so. I bought a second set of their ice/heat packs which come in a nice drawstring bag and each one comes in it's own sleeve. This is perfect for when doing heat and ice. I highly recommend getting the second set when buying this! This sleeve also comes in a nice drawstring bag so when it's not in use, you can hang it in a closet (or wherever).

Effective treatment
I purchased this rap for treating lateral epicondylitis, otherwise known as tennis elbow. I normally use this after a workout session and it provides complete and instant application of cold therapy to my elbow. The cold therapy lasts longer then what I normally require for treatment which is normally about 20 minutes. The ice packs stay cold much longer than that and I found that the velcro strips that are attached make it very easy to move the ice packs around the wrap. This allows me to accurately pinpoint cold therapy to the area of the elbow that requires treatment. It's a very simple design and this is meant to be worn after your activities and not during. Also, because cold therapy should only be used for a limited amount of time, this really is not meant to be worn around town so to speak. This wrap is well made and sturdy and I would purchase this again and recommended to friends..

Velcro gives out after a few months
Great in the beginning, after about 3 months the velcro starts to work less and less. Now it takes almost as long to strap it on as I do to wear it. Disappointing because I was super excited about how well it worked at first

Great fit and function for the money
Admittedly this is the first wrap I tried, but it works great. I am using it for tennis elbow, which hurts way more than I could’ve expected. Anyway, the gel packs stay ice cold for the duration of treatment (15-20 mins) and conform to my area of treatment which is my elbow and forearm. I feel like I could use this for me knee as well if and when I hurt it. Much easier than an ice pack to use. I have a toddler and an infant so I can literally walk around and pick the kids up and change them all while icing my arm which is a big plus. Could never do that with an ice pack. I have not used the gel packs for heat as I have a separate heating pad that has worked well. But I’m certain the heat would work great too.

Unsure about size? Go up!
This is my second ActiveWrap product and it has the quality construction and durability I would expect. However, it seems a little small for the specified measurements. I measured 14 inches for my elbow, and when both pads are inserted I can barely get the wrap closed. With one pad inserted there is still such a small overlap that it is awkward to close and remain secure without having excessive compressive force.
