PERFECT - Exactly What I Needed
I built one of those compressed carpet targets (1'x3' strips of carpet, tightly compressed, framed out in wood) and wanted something nice to tack on the front for target shooting. I looked at and purchased a different target which was advertised as Waterproof. It was, and it looked very nice on my new target. But after just 2 sessions with it I'd already totally obliterated the center - the material just couldn't stand up to much use. I've destroyed so many paper plates tacked onto my target I've lost count and my yard is littered with tiny pieces of red paper plate! So I was hunting for something more durable.I ordered this Arrowmat at Amazon - it arrived REALLY fast from the Marketplace vendor! While I was waiting for it to arrive I looked up the company online and they described the process whereby they figured out that the material used to make old fashioned mouse pads also makes an excellent target, that it seems to "self-heal," closing around the arrow hole. Since I had a day or two before the target arrived and also an old ratty mouse pad, I tacked the mouse pad up on the carpet target and away I went. True to Arrowmat's discovery, it does a remarkable job of "healing" after being shot.Got the large, official-archery-printed target and tacked it onto my larger carpet target and so far I have to say I am just terribly impressed. I shoot a LOT (continuous shooting of a dozen arrows, over and over, for at least an hour per session) and this thing is holding up just beautifully. Even in a couple places where the shots were really close together, something that would have just torn the pieces off every other target I've used, this is still holding together. Not JUST holding together, by the way - from a distance you literally can't even tell this thing has ever been pierced by an arrow. It looks beautiful on the target and has already endured several rain storms without any degradation of the material. Once you get close up you can see all the places where the arrow has pierced the material, but remarkably you don't see any actual HOLES - just the narrowest of slits where the arrow went through and then closed back up when I removed it.I also like that the material seems to somehow blunt the sound of the arrow hitting. Prior to installing this I got a pretty pronounced THUNK with each arrow hitting the target. Not that big a deal, but I live in a neighborhood and sometimes get out to practice early in the morning - always too aware of every thunk and whether it's waking the neighbors. This material seems to mute that a great deal... more like a gentle pwffft as it goes in.I'm shooting field points or bullet points, I don't think this would hold up to broadheads (and I don't believe Arrowmat even claims it would).Very reasonably priced, especially considering that I anticipate the target holding up for a very long time. If it ever does need replacing, I'm absolutely going to buy another one. Terrific concept, very fast shipping, does what it's supposed to do, reasonable price. Five stars are well deserved.

On the spot
This is, essentially, a huge mouse pad, with grommets and a target design. Still, it's great-looking and it does the trick. I use it atop some layers of sponge neoprene and squares of anti-fatigue matting -- both pretty inexpensive. Laying all upon a piece of plywood makes a low-priced, but durable and attractive archery target.

Great mouse pad
As advertised but the target sagged to much and wanted to come off my hay backstop when pulling arrows. Ended up throwing it away before its time. I went to HD and bought some squares of heavy duty foam installation ($15 ea), glued a paper target on it, and covered it with clear packing tape. Great cheap solution to outdoor targets

Forget Paper Targets
This archery target mat is great. It somewhat self-repairs and will last a long time. Worth the money! I highly recommend this as a replacement to paper targets.
