🚂 Build your empire before the rails run cold!
Northern Pacific is a fast-playing strategy board game where 2-5 players invest in railroad towns and expand tracks from Minneapolis to the Pacific Ocean. With simple yet challenging turns, players place investment cubes or extend railroads to outsmart competitors in 30-60 minute sessions.

Awesome game
The designer Tom Russell makes these really simple yet deep game play games. This does have a bit of take that as you compete but you can play 3 games in a row in about half an hour. He had made a game that I love to take with me everywhere I go! Thank you Mr. Russell.

Pretty Interesting with Super Easy Rules, Good Quality
Caveat I only played this with family including a 7 year old. The board is thick. The cubes are nice. Map is interesting enough. Hope to get some more plays soon. Takes about 1 minute to teach and has some interesting outcomes though you may need some thick skin or at least not take it too seriously. I recommend randomizing turn order at the beginning of each round.

Great light train game, very mean
Oh boy, this game is a lot of fun. Especially with a big player count. Very simple turns, either lay a piece of track, extending the ONE and ONLY Northern Pacific railway, or make an investment by taking a cube of your color and putting it in that city. If the trains reaches a city where you had an investment cube, it pays back your cube plus a new one. Invest them again.Whats that you asked? What happens if the train doesn't go through the city you invested in? Oh.... yeah sorry mate. Too bad for you! And I'll make damn sure it doesn't go through your city.Often rounds lead to these nasty stalemates. You lay that track and I'll send this train sailing right away from the city you want... but if you don't lay the track, I'll invest in the same city as you so I get paid too. Love it. Lots of trash talking, and sniping and nobody can get too upset about it because as soon as you start, the game is nearly over. Once the train reaches the west coast, score for good/bad investments, wipe the board, and repeat 2 more times. even at higher player counts its over in 40 min. This is a great game for any collection. if its 20-30 I say buy buy buy.
