Does the job
Bought this for my mk7 gti. Was worried I wouldn’t be able to remove them by hand but this definitely made it easier. Half the price of a name brand

Good construction and very close to the factory tool, a decent replacement.
Everything appears nearly identical to the original vas tool except material quality and tolerances aren’t perfect. The thumb wheel isn’t as freely spinning as the original and if you tighten the pintle too much the fingers stay bent out slightly and will be too wide to fit into coil hole. I just pinched them with pliers and they were fine and under regular use just adjusting enough to pull coils as designed it stays in spec. I’ll recommend it to my coworkers with a disclaimer.

Great VW/Audi coil pack removal tool!
This coil pack tool for VW/Audi’s is a must have for any technician or even the DIYer. Most coil packs are buried in the newer generation VW/Audi’s and using a pair of pliers is pretty much out of the question as there isn’t enough access to get pliers in to grab hold with enough grip to remove the pack, plus you risk the chance of damaging the coil pack. Also if you use a pry bar or flat head screwdriver to try and pop the pack out, you risk further damage by trying that method. This tool installs right into the hole the 10mm hold down bolt threads into. The tool is simple in design, but it makes pulling the coil pack out straight and doesn’t rip the boot or damage the coil pack. You could shell out for the more expensive Schawben brand, but this is literally the same thing without having the name stamped on it. If you are on the fence, I say get it, shipping can be a bit of a lengthy time, but once you have it and use it, you’ll understand the need for it.

Handy tool to have
Great tool for pulling ignition coils to change the spark plugs for my 2019 GTI. I’m not a professional, just a DYIer, so can’t really speak to the durability if used a lot.

This copy of the OEM tool has worked great so far!
Unlike some coil remover tools that hook under the coil to help overcome a stuck spark plug boot, this tool goes into the hole the retaining bolt passes thru.It is identical to the VW factory tool and worked well on a couple of VW's I have done, so far.If your coil is held in place with a 6mm bolt, this tool will work perfectly!

Fell apart out of the package
I don't believe this was assembled correctly in China before packaging. The expander rod slipped out of the barrel as soon as I picked it up, and the "pin" that I think secures it, was loose inside as well. The fit and finish of the machining looks fine and was disappointed that I had to return it.
