This sun shade fit our 2012 RAV4 good. It’s slightly oversized on the length but not a big deal since the sides fold. I wasn’t expecting it to fit exact. It is very sturdy so be prepared when you install it. I have to place it under the rear view mirror first and then go from there. The more flimsy ones just tuck in if you don’t clear the mirror completely. Not this shade. It fits our windshield snug from top to bottom. I like that very much. I definitely think it depends on your car. It may be “universal” but it’s sturdiness offers little forgiveness when installing it. That being said, the sturdiness prevents it from falling down at all. So when I build my time machine, I will go back and tell myself to purchase it because it works for our 2012 RAV4. This way I don’t disrupt the timeline for the rest of the world.

I purchased this sunshade because I was looking for one that was larger than my previous one to cover the windshield on my wife 2018 Santa Fe. This one fits quite nicely, even though it's a bit snug going around the rear view mirror. I don't use the sunction cups because the sun visors simply hold it in place very well. The quality is quite nice, especially for the price. I recommend paying a bit more to get this one is you want to feel like it was money well spent. The straps and the way it folds are very good, making the shiny part always hidden inside when it's folded, so no reflections in the car while driving. The heat reduction is much better than the previous flimsier and smaller shade we had. I didn't measure the difference, but the sensation is this one is working better than a thinner one did. I recommend this, and I don't write reviews often.

For context with the Texas heat it has done a great job at keeping the car cool but after just 3 months the product has lost all shape and will not hold up and a clear layer on the grey side of the shade has begun flaking off resulting in clear plastic flakes all over front dash and seats.

We just had a brutal summer here in the South, with 90+ temps (two days at 98) and direct sun for three weeks. We have 2 cars, both parked outside, and I bought this shade, plus another brand that was made up of two separate squarish circle shaped shades that you overlap for the other car. This one by far kept the interior cooler than the double unit one. (the double unit stows away smaller, into a bag that is a flat circle less than 12 inches, so it has an advantage there). But on a scorching day, neither keeps it 'room temperature' cool. The thing I look for is how hot the top of my dash gets, which is where a lot of the heat comes from, and this one did a better job of keeping that temperature lower. I'm thinking about getting another one of these to replace the double piece one in the other car. you car will still get fairly warm, if not hot. My purpose in using a shade is to protect the interior and especially the top of the dash, from being ruined by sun exposure. In that case, either type works. But this one is more efficient. And it accordions down to a 36" (or so) flat bundle with a built in snap strap, that works well. It also has 2 suction cups that better hold it in place, so that is also a benefit.

I purchased the MCBUTY Car Windshield Sunshade Thicken 5-Layer UV Reflector Auto Front Window Sun Shade for my car and found it to be a decent product. The 5-layer construction provided good sun protection and kept the car's interior cooler on hot days. However, the fit was not ideal for my car, and I had to make adjustments to get it to stay in place properly. Additionally, the sunshade was difficult to fold and store, which was a minor inconvenience. Overall, I would say that the MCBUTY sunshade is an average product that provides good sun protection, but may require some adjustments to fit properly.

I have always liked the accordion-style sun shades, and have been buying those types for the past 35 years. It seems these days, those round, foldable style shades are being pushed more and more. I tried one and it was horrible - returned it the same day I received it. You can't fold those types without getting out of the car, plus they seem very flimsy compared to the accordion types, and wouldn't keep the car as cool. I've tried another brand of accordion-style shade - rhymes with Rotor Bend - and those aren't as thick as these and don't really hold up as well. Plus, they don't fit my cars as well as these do. My only complaint - if it is a complaint at all - is the color choices. I wish they came in more than just Blue, Pink or Silver. Colors like Red and Black would be nice for those who have red and/or black cars. Other than that, I hope that these will always be available.

I bought one of these 2.5 years ago for my 2011 RAV, and it just started to peel and get very flimsy. I live in Florida and my car sits in the sun all day. Just ordered a new one and it’s very sturdy. A little big for the RAV4 but still works.

I like this brand so much I have now bought 3 of these sunshades - 1 for each car, different sizes I like that they are stiffer/ thicker than most/ have a great build quality … fold up with a strap for easy storage…. have been the best at fitting my cars … to me, they function perfectly and do a great job keeping the car cooler… they also have the little suction cups for ease of use, even without putting down the visors… i’ve been using this brand for 3 years now.. when they wear out, i’ll buy them again … stay cool P.S. I gave this one a 4 star because it came folded in half the wrong way…. but luckily it still works fine/ perfectly… but packing could have been better… the other 2 came in a long box
