Photography and computer graphics at its very best
The photography and computer graphics will please the young and the older folks. I found it educational and a nice addition to our film library. However, the 75 running time is a bit deceptive. The main feature is only 30 minutes. Perhaps the extras make up the difference. Usually the running time doesn't include the extras.I highly recommend this to parents who want to educate and engage their children in the subject matter of first life on Earth. It's 30 minutes of pure visual entertainment splattered with good narrative information. Also, the sound track is quite interesting. It reminds me of the sound track from '2001' but, of course, very different. One of the extras is the sound track with visuals. There is also an education slide show and a short quiz at the end.All in all time well spent, and a dvd worth the money. But I do wish there had been more footage to the main feature.

Don't get this confused with Great Courses production with the same title.
Moves slowly, but excellent visuals. Don't get this confused with a title of the same name produced by Great Courses.

Clear and concise presentation of the origins of life on Earth
Clear and compelling way to present this important information. Children will love it. Great idea to use present day life forms to illustrate what extinct species might have been like.

Excellent presentation of scientific fact
also well presented. I'm so glad these folks use their time and talent for the presentations of science. For most of us, it's much better than reading a dry text book.
