Great coffee at a fantastic price
This is a review for the addon listing of Peet's Major Dickerson blend.I've been a Peet's convert for a while now, in fact Peet's ruined my preference for medium roasts with it's Maj D blend and I was quite a coffee snob willing to spend more for quality at other website roasters typically ordering around 7 lbs a month. But when I discovered Maj D I was surprised at how rich, complex and satisfying of a roast it was. For a while I ordered from their website but I'd check in with amazon from time to time and saw they had this listing while shopping one day. Gave it a shot as I'm always a bit cautious about ordering whole beans off of Amazon when its Prime but knowing what the roast to order tasted like I had a good foundation for comparison. I can happily say its the same and at the price listing (I have no trouble hitting that $25 minimum) its a solid win. I often shop around trying other roasters/blends, but Peet's is my roaster of choice, they really are for my tastes, the best.

One Taste and You'll be a Peetnik Too!
We love Peet's Coffee and have been drinking it for years, and Major Dickason's Blend is our go-to flavor for every day brewing. Whether we are using the K Kups at work or grinding whole beans at home, this blend brews up good, dark, and delicious. The fragrance fills our offices and home, so that the uninitiated are soon asking, "What are you drinking? It smells so good!" And it tastes just as good as it smells. It's the perfect combination of beans in our opinion, and we can never get enough of it. Whether we brew it for breakfast to start the day, refrigerate it to drink it cold, or brew another pot to enjoy with dessert after a dinner with friends, it is always just right and warmly accepted by all of our friends. We must say, after sharing this brew with our guests, we've converted more than a few people into Peetniks (Peet's Coffee fans). One taste, and you'll likely be a convert too. Enjoy!

Well Worth It
For years I roasted my own beans and the only reason I don't do it much lately is because I just don't ever have the time. So you end up too often roasting a batch of beans at 6 am so you can have a morning cup. Which means you're grinding and perking warm beans which is not optimal. So too much of a hassle and while I still do the occasional batch to my own particular taste, I have shopped around for a reliable substitute. The first thing I discovered is that you can pay a lot of money for some really mediocre to lousy beans. But I eventually managed tofind some primo stuff and this is one I highly recommend.I'm not going to give you all that "floral notes and finish of absinthe" nonsense. It's just good coffee, dark and rich and never bitter. These guys do a good job and you ought to give it a try. Maybe you'll like it and maybe it won't be exactly what you're looking for but either way you won't feel like you paid a premium price for a bag of mud,

Great for Cold Brew
This is a great coffee to use when making Cold Brew. As it is slightly weak if you leave it in the fridge for 24 hours, 12hrs or so outside of the fridge and the rest in the fridge, will make this a bold and rich flavored cold brew.My wife who never drinks coffee, has loved the cold brew and says she doesn't get the coffee headache as she does with other coffee. She never liked "American" coffee, as she tried Foldgers, Starbucks, Grocery Store "locals" blends, etc and wasn't good to her. But I knew Peet's would get her as I loved Peet's.

Perfect for my taste.
I'm not a coffee snob but i do enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning and this checks off all the right boxes. I do take my coffee with cream and this roast is dark enough to give me the a smile with each sip. I love how the beans are shiny (some other brands will say dark roast and those beans are dry and dull) and the fact that there is a roast on date to let you know when it was roasted. I also use a Bodum electric mini Santos to brew my coffee.

Smooth, smoky, full bodied, and PERFECT!
Over the last 40 plus years, I have made do with some of the worst coffee imaginable in the military , had some good coffee, but have always been searching for a GREAT coffee. I've tried everything I could lay my hands on, except for the coffee eaten and then "recycled" from the Civet cat. (who thought of that??) I found Starbucks coffee to always have a sort of burned taste, Gevalia to have no "edge" at all, etc, etc. Finally, I found Peet's Maj. Dickenson. Not bitter, but not bland. I've been drinking it for about 5 years now, and still stop to savor that first sip of the day. Great body, perfect flavor, what more can you say?

Excellent for price
This is excellent coffee. I don't understand why it costs so much more per ounce than the French roast, which is almost as good. Each time I have ordered, coffee is dated several weeks after roasting date, but well before best-by date. I compared to coffee ordered directly from Peet's, which is much more expensive and ships immediately after roasting. The fresher coffee smelled even better when ground, though my palate not refined enough to detect any difference in the flavor of the coffee.

Limited quantities
Well the product is quality but it’s a commodity which you can purchase anywhere. I was trying to purchase for work and the vendor limited the quantity. I ordered anyways just to get the job done and then went to the store a week later and purchased more. It would have been great just to get the quantity I needed. Price was not a driving force for me as a guy it was all about convenience and getting the job done.
