Awesome rotary hammer drill with more action than my corded DeWalt
I learned some things testing this rotary hammer drill. I never heard of an SDS-plus drill bit shank. According to wiki the name comes from the German: Stecken – Drehen – Sichern ("Insert – Twist – Secure"). I guess I need to get to the tool store more.Anyway, it's great for quick bit changes because according to wiki "The drill bit is not held solidly in the chuck, but can slide back and forth like a piston; it does not slip during rotation due to the non-circular shank cross-section, matching the chuck. The hammer of the drill acts to accelerate only the drill bit itself, and not the large mass of the chuck, which makes hammer drilling with an SDS+ shank drill bit much more productive than with other types of shank." End of lesson. Oh, wait, there’s another lesson incoming.I can't use this drill with my existing straight shank drill bits, but for $12 I got a 3/8" keyless chuck that fits in the included magnetic SDS->Hex shank adapter so I can now use all my drill bits with the unit. The SDS-> Hex adapter is for screwdriver tips, which makes sense so you can screw something in where you've just drilled a hole. Since the SDS is quick-change this allows you to quickly change from a SDS masonry bit to a screwdriver bit in seconds. Very nice! (However, there’s a lesson here… to be explained shortly. If you know the lesson, you’re probably already shaking your head at me.)Note: the hex chuck I purchased for use with wood and metal bits is held in magnetically. While I can use this unit as a regular drill for wood and metal, it's a hammer drill, hence the SDS+ shank.I have a corded DeWalt hammer drill that I've used a lot to drill into brick that contains small aggregate rocks. It works great.I compared drilling through a piece of 1.5" concrete (see pic) using the same bit in the DeWalt and the Einhell. The Einhell was the clear winner. The Einhell also works great as a wood / metal drill with the magnetic hex chuck I purchased. However – insert lesson here – the Einhell clearly has a LOT of hammer action. Let’s try hammer mode. Since the chuck I was using is only held in with a magnet, it shot the chuck/bit out of the SDS->Hex adapter the second I turned it on in hammer mode. (Lesson learned.) When you're using the Einhell as a hammer drill make sure you use an SDS bit and not a bit with a magnetic adapter. LOL. SDS bits ordered and received. (Lesson applied.)The Einhell has a LOT more hammer action than my corded DeWalt DW511 hammer drill. The 4.3 lb 1/2" max bit DeWalt has 0-46000 BPM and 0-2700RPM. The 4.9 lb (w/o battery) 3/4" max bit Einhell has 0-5500 BPM (blows/min) and 0-1200RPM. Don't let the 5500 BPM number fool you.The SDS hammer action is intense. It's really not fair to compare the two drills, as clearly the DeWalt is more of a drill than a hammer drill. The DeWalt works great as a hammer drill, but the Einhell is a BEAST of a hammer drill and cordless! With the 2 yr warranty on the Einhell, the brushless motor, and its portability, the Einhell gets a solid 5 stars from me. Overall, I am totally impressed and MORE than pleased with this beast. As the parent of kiddos with autism, there are causes near and dear to my heart. Let Amazon donate to your favorite charity! Has more power then a regular drill but is heavier then a regular. Does more things tho.
I own a few Einhell tools and they never let me down. This Hammer drill is no exception. This is a good drill to get if you like tools that can do more then 1 thing and do it well. Great for going through concrete, Bricks and stuff like that.It has globs of power for all of my needs. This is like a Multi Tool with everything it does. It's a can drill, impact drilling, chisel drill. Has a pretty bright led light on the base of it. Has a Brushless motor which is plus if you use alot of power tools you want this. They usually cost more but they last longer since it's less wear and tear on it and it's they make more powerIt also comes with a really nice hard case.I mainly use this for the automotive side of things. If I need a really strong drill this is what I get out. I've also used this for bolts that won't move. The hammer jack is a wonder tool if you have it.This drill is heavier then my regular drill but it's a tradeoff for all that this drill does. This is good for Construction, if you have to drill in concrete, brick or automotive which is what I use it for. It's a powerful drill and the jackhammer setting is pretty good for bolts that won't come out on the automotive side.

Works as it should at a competitive price point
I’m a single mom who does 90% of the work in my house on my own. (The only thing I don’t do is electrical work as I’m just not knowledgeable or comfortable to do it) I’ve recently undertaken a few projects, including building my own shed and doing some work in my concrete garage. I knew I wanted/needed a cordless Hammer drill, especially since I am building a shed and I would have to run a power cord over every time if not. This is my 6th Einhell tool and I now have 4 batteries. I was able to just get the tool instead of the tool and battery combo since I have some Einhell batteries on hand already. That’s one thing I really like about Einhell, it makes it much more cost effective to be able to just get the tool alone instead of both and the quality of each tool has been fantastic especially at this price point. All of Einhell power x Change tools are interchangeable with all power x change batteries, for the most part. There are a couple that have specifications like 3.0 A or higher battery like this hammer drill. As soon as I got this Einhell cordless hammer drill I immediately tried it out on a few small things I needed done like drilling anchors into my concrete garage for some storage racks and installing one of these broom holder bars into the concrete. And I could not be happier with how this performs. It drilled/hammered though the concrete as easily as a regular drill would drive into drywall. I hardly had to put any pressure on it either, just mostly holding it steady. This Einhell hammer/drill is actually quite comfortable and easy to hold. The way it’s shaped makes it so that it’s not to top or bottom heavy which is great!Overall I’m extremely pleased with this Einhell Cordless hammer drill. It does exactly what it should at a competitive price point and is built solid and easy to use. I honestly can’t think of anything that could make this a better tool.

Strong and Effective
I read all the reviews and chose the Einhell Herocco Power X-Change 18-Volt Cordless 3/4-Inch, Brushless 1200-RPM Roary Hammer . I needed to drill 5” inch holes through concrete to sink 1/2 inch mounting bolts to secure the base mounts of a large gazebo. Using my old power drill, it took 30 plus minutes per hole and the drill bit slip away from the intended hole when it hit rocks. With this, , I cut straight perfect holes, no slippage, no mistakes. You will not believe the accuracy, ease and speed until you use this simply amazing rotary hammer drill, I did create a jig using 1/2 plywood with 4 pre drilled holes to make sure the mounting bracket holes were properly aligned, which allowed me to drill perfectly placed holes.
