A gift for a busy person that doesn’t have time to sit down and read a whole book.

Be aware that it may not come in pristine shape. The cover on the one I received is dinged in several places. I decided not to return it since those damaged areas won't show given how I'll display it on my own bookshelf. However, I definitely would have returned it if I intended it as a gift.

Good collection

I get most of my reading through Kindle and Libby, but I still love the feel of a great book. This was me has nice end sheets, gilded edges and a great collection of stories.

There are stories I'd forgotten I know I had read long ago (example: Edgar Allan Poe). There were stories I'd never read but thought I must have (example: Mark Twain, despite having read his complete works). From authors I knew came works I'd not read. Best of all is the selection from authors I'd never read and, in most cases, had never heard of. Most (all?) of these stories are beyond copyright so the collection should be free, right? No. Someone or several someones put effort into curating a remarkably entertaining and well-balanced collection and the result is worth far more than the price.
