Oregon 27853 16-Inch Chainsaw Bar & Chain Combination Fits Homelite, Remington and More, Gray

I had a lot of firewood cutting to do this fall, so I bought this combination for my older Homelite XL 12, which is still running well after many years of occasional use. It installed easily and works well. I especially like that one of the links is marked different from the others with the chain ID, giving you a handy starting point for sharpening. I use a 12v Oregon sharpener running off a car battery. I had an older Stihl grinder that finally broke down and was slipping all the time. Oregon seems to be a good quality product that dominates the chain saw market. They also give you both online and with their products detailed product information about drive links, pitch, gauge and file size data.

I bought this to replace the worn chain and cracked blade on my old Homelite. This little puppy fit perfectly. Blade was sharpened to perfection! This went from the box to my chain saw and to work within minutes. I strongly recommend this combination.

New bar and chain works great. I try to get too much life out of a chain, I don't realize until I put on a new chain how much better it cuts, saves wear on bar, chain and saw.

Shockingly it was the correct bar for my old homelite 330

This bar and chain fit my 40 year old Homelite Super XL Automatic. See picture. I use to buy a quality bar and chain set locally for $40. They no longer stock them for my saw. The guy found one manufacturer who listed the bar and chain for $70. Oregon makes products that fit the whole quality spectrum. I imagine for this price it is on the lower end of that spectrum. I no longer cut down trees. I only use it for the occasional limb that comes down. So I would hope this item lasts many years.

This fits xl 12, super xl and others listed ON THE BACK of the chain package you can barely see if you magnify the picture by running you pointer over the picture. It is a roller nose bar.

Cuts like butter and just eats the wood. Good bar and good chain.
