Premium product at a somewhat premium price.
I bought this utility knife after buying the bigger of the 2 folding knives from slice. If I had to do it over I would have only bought this one. There are a few detents for blade length, I find the first notch to be just perfect for opening packages without fear of cutting the contents of the package. A little pricey, but a great product, the blades are expensive too but are supposed to last longer than steel.

Good at Cutting, Not Precision
== 2-year Update ==My original fears of long-term durability were unfounded. With occasional light use, this is still just fine after two years of use.== Original ReviewAfter hearing my company was switching to these for safety reasons, I figured I'd buy one myself. It's definitely a different experience than using a classic metal utility knife and takes a bit of getting used to. For starters, you can't stab the way you could before, meaning your cuts have to actually be slashes that start just a little before where you want to cut. Consequently, this is not a good precision tool, but if you're opening cardboard boxes, it works totally fine (my personal use case as I moved recently).I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability, but the plastic frame has me a bit concerned about a heavier long-term use of this. I'd be happier with a metal shell, but it still seems to be a solid item.I'd also appreciate if it has some lock mechanism to keep it in. Yes, it has the automatic disengage, but I would like something to keep the blade in until I wanted it out.

A knife that actually works well ;)
So, I am always skeptical with knives and the product description vs the use for it. It delivered ideal results for fiber glass insulation with a face with minimal issues. The blade could be a bit longer as insulation is 2 inches thick but with a couple multi passes it did above average. I'd get another one when this finally dies.

Excellent box cutter
I use this to open Amazon shipments. The blades are sharp, but are safer to touch compared to metal blades. It slices through packaging tape with great ease.

Huge disappointment. Very, very dull blades.
The media could not be loaded. This is by far the absolute worst cutting product that I have ever had the misfortune of trying. After unboxing and inspecting the blade, I returned to the box looking for where the real blade was. Turns out: there wasn't one. The one that came in it was the real blade, and it's incredibly dull. Doesn't 'bite' into my fingernail if some pressure is applied; edge feels dull to touch. Doesn't really 'cut' so much as it tears. Cardboard that even kitchen knives can cleanly slice through like butter are difficult for the Slice's blade.I tried to remove the blade in order to flip it around and try the other side, thereby discovering that the blade lock mechanism is also terrible. Basically, after removing a small cover near the end of the blade, one has to apply considerable force to a very small nub that (in theory) unlocks the blade handle from the notch in the blade. Unfortunately, despite following directions to a T, I wasn't able to get the blade to budge out of position. After about 5 minutes of repeated efforts, I gave up, not willing to escalate my attempts with more force (and thus increasing the risk of an accident). In short: can it cut? Yes, but only when applying abnormally high amounts of force and pressure compared to a conventional utility knife, which in my opinion makes it an inherently unsafe design relative to other alternatives. When it comes to knife/blade handling, a dull blade edge should be considered a danger, as increased amount of force required to cut increases the risk of slipping and other unpredictable results.I'm super disappointed by this product, considering that other ceramic cutting tools I own (several knives and a mandolin) are all incredibly sharp and require very little effort to maintain. I'm re-boxing the product to return to Amazon.

Comfortable and sturdy
I had the Slice heavy duty utility knife but was looking for something with a little more heft and a longer blade. This feels great in the hand and cuts through thick cardboard like butter! HOWEVER, the mechanism to change blade is terrible! I could not get the blade to release and absolutely mutilated it in the process. I swear I watched the video and everything! Amazon has sent a replacement, we'll see how the next one does

Easy to use and safe
I really like this "cutter". I find the ceramic blade to be very effective opening boxes (from Amazon of course) and I like that the blade isn't sharp to the touch or brittle.

Knife review
Good knife. A bit pricey for what it is.
