Very effective.
I have to do traction every day so I bought this. I use it in the basement and made a bar that I screwed into one of the exposed floor joists overhead. I made the bar from some 3/4 pluming supplies (24" pipe, a pair of elbows, pair of nipples, and a pair of flanges, screwed into the joist with construction screws). It took a minute to figure out how to thread the straps and adjust them, but you really only have to do that once. But overall it does the job perfectly. I'm 185lbs and I have no worries about it supporting my weight. I find that it works better to keep my arms up (I hold the bar above me) and it's much more comfortable that way. I've been using it every day for the past 4 months.

Product as described, but runs large.
This back stretcher harness is well made from quality materials. It runs a little large, though. I'm having to use extra padding so the harness does not slip too much. I would have bought a small if they had offered one.

Personal Torture Device
I give it three stars because It hurts so much to use this thing that your mind is briefly off the lower spine problems...This device does pull on the lower spine in the right spot for me. Best when legs are out front with full weight on the device... Although it is pulled as tight as possible around the ribs, and tried below the ribs, the device marches up your back little by little until your armpits are hurting. Hanging by the hand loops is pure nonsense and, if you have such strength, it works to reduce the spinal load somewhat. Wraping it around the upper chest only makes it unbearable faster. In the end, you end up with your T-shirt bunched up around your neck and armpits hurting..

DON'T BUY
This product is useless it doesn't come with support bar and it doesn't state that anywhere in the description.

Dont use it upside down
back stretcher; the add for this and most of the reviews have this pulling up to the neck.... This makes the belt wind up under the armpits. Seems backwards to me, I put the straps DOWN so it pulls on the hips, I can put a weight on the strap and do a pull up to target the lower back. Or attach the straps to a slant board and lay with head down so the whole back is stretched.

Confusing setup
The straps for the armpits area are very complex to set up. They are difficult to adjust too. Once set up though, they work OK. The chest straps are much better but no matter how tight around your chest, they will slip. So by the time you get it right you need a stool to enter the set up because it settles and slips. Otherwise and your knees are on the floor. I suggest alternative areas for hanging location other than a door frame. Absolute ideal would be a remote hoist that can lift you from the ceiling level. Can't find one that does not require a higher than eight foot ceiling for optimal lift clearances..

Yes it works but the instructions are incorrect
I have been getting spinal decompression for years at the chiropractor office with his sophisticated decompression tables. It really helps my back.I bought this product in hopes that it would be good enough to help my back in between the visits to the chiropractor. It is good enough…but the instructions say to wrap it around your chest. WRONG! To keep it from sliding up, it needs to be wrapped around your midsection…below the rib cage. And that means the sizing measurement needs to be done there too. I am a big guy (XL shirts) and had to purchase the smaller size (medium) of this product.
