The medium was equivalent to about a size 10/12.

What size should I order for my 8 year old .. He wears 7/8 boys in clothes .. would a medium be good ?

If he is slim you might want to go with a Small. My son is in the same size and the medium I ordered was a little big (long) but I kept it because we live in the Northeast and sometimes it is cold on Halloween. I reasoned that he could wear sweats or his coat underneath the jumpsuit to stay warm.
