Doomsday Clock: The Complete Collection

Doomsday Clock is phenomenal. Definitely a must read. It's a great Story. Very in-depth. I had to read it twice.

It has been a while since I have read the original Watchmen, but when I reminisce about it, I remember it being so much different in storytelling compared to other comic books. The Doomsday Clock gave me that same feeling, which is the best part of the book for me. The books story is confusing which is the only downside, it sometimes feels like the writing is focused on random events to serve its purpose of confusion, instead of expanding the story. This is after my first read, and after a second read I may have different view point. Though the book is amazing and worth the read.

I’m a Watchman fan and came into this without any knowledge that this collection would be integrated with the DC multiverse. An impressive retcon of content, characters and calamities plus an encyclopedic balancing of worlds past, present and future. Purists of the Watchman universe may find fault with this mashup- and I’m not sure they’re wrong in that Alan Moore would probably once again restate his anger/ ambivalence over how his work has been maligned. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Is it a Watchman sequel? Of sorts - but it is a triumph of story balancing and plate spinning I am in awe of.

This was pretty good...seeing the old gang...I'm not sure why or how the Comedian was there... But who cares, I guess...it was fun, and I got a good deal.

Saw a summary on youtube a while back and put this comic on my backlog to read one day an finally after years got around to reading it and i liked it so much i finished the whole thing in a single day

DC comics has always been mired in the history they have created, having to explain how stories written decades before the present, were still a part of the histories of their characters. They tried many things, that never quite worked. Crisises involving the multiverse, time corrections, etc. Then, someone came up with the idea that there are particular key moments, key people, in history, that become the foundation, the core, of what comes after, of what history centers itself around, from the point in whatever time it occurs, and into the future, across an infinite realm of possibilities and realities. This is DC comics statement that all things are possible, all things can be, as all things simply are. This story isn't actually a sequel, per se, to "Watchmen", but instead, builds upon the foundation that that story created, and becomes something new, a message of hope, of a better future, an allegory that we, through our actions, through our coming together, despite our differences, can be better people, and can build a better tomorrow. No spoilers, but to get the full impact of this tale, you should not only read the DC graphic story, "Watchmen", and have a fair grasp of the many stories and Crisises of their attempts to "correct" their continuity, as well as the more recent comic stories leading into this one, to fully grasp the scope of this story. I think, perhaps, this was one of the best craft3d tales I have yet read. Now, if you'll pardon me, I have to get back to my own universe of stories I am writing, and try, with my feeble skills, to write a story at least half as well told as this...

This is pivotal if you enjoy character's that were erased by dr Manhattan. Alternate earth's. The best thing of all the return of the legion of superheroes. Nice tie in with the watchmen.

More real and important than ever

Pensaba que seria una sequela innecesaria. Pero tiene una trama original que engancha , ademas es respetuosa con el universo de watchmen y aporta cosas interesantes al universo dc. Muy recomendable. De lo mejor del año

I went in this not very hopeful coz how do you top Watchmen, Allen Moore, Dr Manhattan and Adrian Veidt Turns out Superman exists and he is Superman for a reason Full disclosure I have never been a Superman fan, I prefer the gritty Batman stories, but this book makes you understand why Supes is needed not just for comics but for humanity Great book, very well written with not just lovely callbacks to Watchmen but great parallels in structure etc. as well Amazing cast too, also confirmed my doubt that Rorschach is just Batman in another way
