Love the beaters. Less food stuck on them and so much faster than my 25 year old other hand mixer. Makes cooking much easier. I haven't had a chance to use the whisk or dough attachments. I'm satisfied with the ease of clean up and compact storage ability.

This review is after the initial use of the mixer. First impression out of the box was impressive. It was well packaged and the product looked perfect. I would have given this 5 stars for the power alone except that I do not like the initial surge this particular mixer has. I am accustomed to starting my mixer on a low setting and going up on speed while the blades are in the mix so not to splatter the mix everywhere. I was quite surprised when I started this mixer in the mixing bowl and the surge nearly sent the contents all over...I managed to pull the mixer out of the mix as soon as I 'heard' the surge. I had to look again at the setting to ensure it was on 1, and then I wondered if I got a defective mixer for all the power on the first setting. Since I had already given my Kitchenaid Architect 9 speed mixer to one of my best friends after her mixer died, I didn't have a back up other than the big Kitchenaid Professional stand mixer, which was too big for this small job. So I decided to tough it out with the new Cuisinart. What I found was it quickly finished the mixing in less than two minutes, if that. Impressive, powerful...even on the lowest setting. I did notice it finally slowed a little as the mixing completed. If you want a powerful hand mixer and are in a hurry to get mixing done, this is the tool...as long as you are fully aware of the initial surge of power as it eventually adjusts to the speed you selected. I would personally prefer a slow start feature like the Kitchenaid Architect has, but this Cuisinart is more powerful and will more likely survive dough mixing better...though the big stand mixer is preferable for dough mixing. Also, storing all the mixing tools and the cord in the handy plastic case attachment hasn't been a problem. (Hint: I kept the original cord tie that the cord was originally packaged.) Place the mixing tools in the plastic case so that the mixing ends are facing opposite each other. With the cord, accordian the cord, and then use the original cord tie that came with the mixer (or get a velcro cord tie from the local hardware store) to tie the cord together. This will keep it as one unit within the plastic case. Set the wrapped cord in the plastic case. The mixer has a fat rounded end that tapers to a smaller flat end; so be careful to turn the same shaped case the right way before attempting to snap it in place. Since the cord is already inside the case, I snap that cord end of the mixer in with the small, flat end of the case before snapping the fat end into place. I don't see this plastic case outlasting the mixer in the years to come, but for the time it remains functional, I am going to enjoy being able to store all it's mixing blades in one location with the mixer.
