Good pair of sandals zero
Very comfortable I’ve bought these before they always last me a year which I’m happy with because I’m always outside working in the yard, fishing, camping or even running errands in them. Every type of sandal like this will start to smell and pull cords loosen and stretch so paracord will fix string and a diluted bleach spray works also. I just feel for about $100 it’s worth buying knowing that they will last about a year. I’ve wanted to extend wearing them another year but tbh they hold sweat and my wife throws them away because smells up our closet even after thoroughly bleaching and using fabric sprays on them but it’s not brand specific as I’ve had every pair of outdoor hiking sandals just reek of salty foot. I live on Lake Huron and wear sandals daily when it’s warm enough and my favorite are Keen, owned probably every type and brand Keen seems to be more comfortable durable and the best brand out there for sandals. For people upset about smell you can probably prolong them by using foot deodorants but tbh I could care less I’m married have a kid last thing I’m worried about is a nice smelling pair of sandals. I work in our garden in these, mow lawn chase after a toddler and these fit my lifestyle perfectly. They are well made my feet are average width for 11 1/2 shoes I buy 12 in sandals and these fit perfectly not snug or loose. Just order a half size up and you’ll be fine.

Keen is the best and these are great.
The best all around footwear for general purposes. I do not hike in them though. They have a removable foot bed that allow use of orthopedic inserts below it which makes all the difference if you need them I have bought three pairs. All are durable and all fit perfectly. Highly recomended. Keen is the best.

Great looking footwear, quality construction. Etc.
Good quality. True to size. Comfortable to wear. No break-in required. Based on other Keen footwear I've purchased, virtually indestructible and great appearance throughout its life.

Overall good, but take note!
I really like KEEN products, because they have a reputation for holding together and being well-made. I bought these, planning to take them on a big hiking trip down the west coast this summer - I figured with the beaches and water and the inevitable dip in the ocean, these would be great, right? Well, maybe. First off, I notice that they are ever so slightly larger than normal. I usually wear a size 13 shoe, and the way my feet are, the closest size to match my standard shoe size is a 13M. They are a little long, but that's nothing too terrible. The real reason why I gave these 4 stars instead of 5 is because of one flaw in the design. On the back of the heel, they have a bit of stitching that seems innocent enough. I recently strapped these sandals on a local walk to start breaking them in. About 2 miles into the walk, the stitching on the back of the heel had started to rub away at my heel, causing a nice friction rub. I still had 3 miles to go before I could cross the bridge and get back to my car and return home, and by the end of the 5-mile (rough estimate) walk, I had a pretty good wound on both heels. Keep in mind that I was not wearing socks, and I honestly believe that, had I been wearing socks, this wouldn't be an issue, and I would likely be leaving a 5-star review here instead. I had thought about returning them, but I don't think Amazon would take too kindly to me returning sandals with dried blood on the inside of them. So, I will keep them, as they are still excellent sandals, but if you are one of those people who cringes at the thought of wearing socks with sandals, these are most definitely NOT for you! Other than the above issue, these sandals are great! They are very supportive and offer excellent ventilation! The draw-string closure can get a bit annoying, but I just tuck it under the front lacing to hold it in place, so not really to big of a deal. Overall, I would say that these are excellent sandals. Just remember that these are HIKING sandals, and not your flip-flop beach sandals - they require socks with them - and you'll be fine. If that isn't your forte, these aren't for you.

KEEN SHOES: I'm a fan!
Although I feel that the Arroyo sandals fit slightly larger and wider than other Keen sandals I own (I have about a dozen pairs) they can easily be cinched up tight with the drawstring. They are indeed comfortable enough for all-day wear, and provide very adequate arch support for me (I have flat feet!). I do have two minor complaints: Unlike my other Keen sandals that have an elastic cinch-string, these have a non-stretch cinch. It's also a bit smaller in diameter than the elastic ones. The reason I point this out is that they have a tendency to loosen over the course of the day. One could conceivably avoid this by sizing them when on, then tying an overhand knot over the cinch-string just behind the adjuster lock. However, that will make it more difficult when getting the sandals on and off. The second issue concerns the sole. Yes, it's true that this is a deeply lugged sole, and is very well suited for day hikes. However, my experience over the past week, or so, is that the soles do not do well over any wet or damp surface. It causes the sole to slip, lose traction and slide. This is apparent on a wet floor, and suggests to me that they may not perform well on the train when climbing slick rocks, or those covered in moss. I should note that I have similarly found that the Keen H2 sole is very slippery on wet surfaces, in spite of the fact that they are designed for water sports. Looking at those one would assume that they had great traction on flat, wet surfaces due to their deck-shoe style treads ("razor-cut" type tread). Not the case, unfortunately. It's no secret that I'm a Keen fan, and also own several of their shoes, as well as specialized Keen cycling shoes (3 pairs!). I love the design of the Keens, and they allow me to walk in total comfort all day long. In particular, I enjoy the thicker, padded soles. They are well cushioned, and seem to last forever. I purchased my first pair of Keens about 12 years back (give or take), and still wear them. Very well constructed, well designed shoes. The Arroyo appears to be equally well made, and will (I hope) serve me well for many years to come.

Quality and long wearing
Good and sturdy, good traction all weather. I wear these just about all year. (S Oregon) These are my second pair, the old ones are just fine still, but I want some new ones for "go to town". Only thing to do when new is get the best cushion work boot inserts you can find and put in. You might have to do some trimming on the insert for a good fit. Really makes them comfortable. I bought the first pair in May, 2020 and they are still daily wear, rain or shine.

Nice Keens with a few caveats.
I walk 5 miles a day- rain, snow or shine and I love walking in sandals compared to shoes. I also like wearing sandals in all but the snow which we get very little of in the South. I love my previous Keens - Newport H2s- although I have has a recurrent problem with them wearing out prematurely where the heel strap attaches to the rest of the sandal. Look at the Amazon reviews for the Newport H2 and you will see others have the same problem even including pictures. Needing a daily walking sandal, I decided to try the Arroyo II since it has a completely different design which will hopefully fix the premature wear problem. They seem to be sturdy enough where the heel strap problem should never be an issue as it does not have one. This sandal is really rigid and feels more like an open shoe than a pair of sandals. Let me warn you now of sizing. In my High School and College days I sold shoes and know that my feet run 10.5 to 11 depending upon the brand. My previous Keens were 10.5s and fit perfectly, these feel like 11-11.5s despite the label. More curious, the Right sandal feels larger than the left which is something I have never experienced in my lifetime of buying shoes and sandals. As a result, there is no way to get a good snug fit in bare feet on these and even with Nike Athletic socks they are not ever as snug as they should be. If you are buying these to hike where a good snug fit is essential I would suggest you try before you buy- these are large for 10.5s and the sizing seems inconsistent from the left to the right sandal. Mine are made in Vietnam and I wonder if the quality control is as good as is should be- my Newports were 1 pair Made in USA and 1 pair made in Mexico and with fit perfectly for size. I plan on keeping these but am hoping for an exchange on my Newports that have the failed heel strap. These will never be as comfortable probably by design but should prove durable. Update: I am now seeing the same issue with the laces- the material is cheap and not up to the standards of my previous Keens. The material they are made from stretches and never properly tightens. Sad that I should have to buy a pair of Lock-Laces to replace the original ones that are not up to standard. If you want something more like an open show than a true sandal these are probably what you want. Update: I ordered a set of Lock Laces with a much higher quality cord material and it has improved the fit considerably. Sad I had to replace the laces on a new set of sandals, but the original laces are awful and of poor quality.

Great shoes
Great shoes! They fit well and are cooler than the totally closed style.
