Human Osteology

I bought this textbook because it was assigned for a college course I took, but I ended up keeping it because it's so well-written and informative. It is very interactive and, like my colleagues and professor, I can see why it is gaining popularity in forensic anthropology and osteology studies. It is a bit expensive (like most hardcover textbooks), but it is very easy to read and offers a TON of visuals to make memorizing bone names and parts easier. I'm glad I forked out the money to buy the physical copy.

Took a while to arrive but that's to be expected with textbooks such as this. Looks great and did not come damaged in any way.

The pictures are very clear and easy to see the locations directed to. Full of useful information if you are studying osteology

I had to get this book for my osteo class during undergrad. I will say the pictures are extremly helpful for finding all the bone structures, as a lot of them will not show up on google images (if you need indepth ones). The rest of the book is fine, I honestly only read like one chapter because I didn't need it for my class. I will say it was worth having the labeled pictures of every bone.

I was not expecting a used book like this to be in such a good condition and I've seen the same book in worse when bought on amazon. Good money spent and came on time.

Even though I am no longer in the course I initially purchased this textbook for, I always keep it handy. White provides great descriptions as well as reference photos to help familiarize you with the human skeleton at all levels. Highly recommended for any osteology, forensic anthropology, human anatomy or medical student.

As a physical/biological Anthropology grad student, this book is tantamount to a bible for me. The pictures are gorgeous, and the text leaves nothing to be desired. As a bonus, can be used to incapacitate any intruders that interupt frantic, late night studying. A great book that goes well with Tim D. White's "Human Bone Manual", which offers a portable and more "bare bones" version to save any injury to your vertebrae while carrying it to class. A great book and must have for physical anthropologists.

Ya lo había consultado, la información es muy útil en mi carrera, recomendado. Llegó super rápido, mi única queja es por el envio, llegó un poco golpeado de las orillas afortunadamente nada grave

En primer lugar, el papel encerado con que están hecha las paginas tiene un tacto suave y agradable. Del mismo modo, la portada es gruesa y parece que está bien construida. Me gustaría añadir que el libro pesa 2.15 kilos; lo que indica que la calidad en general es fantástica y se nota que está fabricado para un uso intensivo y para que dure bastantes años.En cuanto a las fotos, tienen bastante calidad, son muy nítidas y de un gran tamaña para ver hasta el último detalle de los huesos. Las falanges y huesos pequeños (mediales, distales o sesamoideos) están a tamaño real por lo que puedes identificarlo con mayor facilidad.En cuanto al contenido, podemos encontrar todos los huesos del cuerpo fotografiados y por separados junto con una detallada explicación; eso sí, el nivel de inglés es muy técnico y necesitas acostumbrarte rápidamente al nuevo vocabulario. A parte del lenguaje técnico, no hay nada especial ya que con un nivel B2 es más que suficiente.Quisiera añadir que el empaquetamiento era defectuoso ya que me llegó con una esquina dañada como podéis ver en las fotos adjuntas. El libro venía en una caja demasiado grande sin ningún tipo de protección. Ojalá Amazon arreglara este tipo de inconvenientes.Por último, me gustaría destacar que este libro es ideal para el estudio de la antropología física y forense y para la medicina en general. Recomiendo su compra.

Répondre à un souhait d'avoir ce livre en cadeau de Noël pour un cégépien de 19 ans en lieu d'une bébelle électronique. Constater quelques semaines plus tard qu'il le lit avec intérêt au point de se composer lui même des examens pour en tester ça compréhension... ça n'a pas de prix. J'ai cru comprendre que ce livre était une bible d'ostéologie de première année de médecine.

Ordine perfettamente puntuale, l'atlante è fatto davvero bene ed è ricchissimo di immagini, nomi e spiegazione. Consigliato per tutti gli studenti di anatomia
