Finish Line Gear Floss

This floss assists in getting all the used and impurity laced grease from the vertical lead screws on my X1 printers… making a nasty dirty job muck more controlled so the removed grease can be collected into a rag as it’s being removed.

Worked well to clean and lubricate the x/y/z axis rods and screws in my 3d printer. Especially good for getting into the threads of the long screws, and covering screws that might be tucked away and hard to reach the full length of, saving potential disassembly otherwise.

I used this to clean the leadscrews of my 3D printer; these accumulate dirt and debris over time and need to be periodically cleaned and lubricated. Cleaning is normally a bit of a chore, but I saw a recommendation to use this gear floss, and it works great!

Lets you get your cassette, jockey wheels, derailleurs, and the inner sides of the chainrings clean very quickly. They won't get them as clean as a proper disassembly and scrubbing with a degreaser, but I can clean all the parts listed above in under two minutes. The only thing to watch out for is that the fibers are pretty loosely wound, so you have to pull the floss fairly tight when running it through the cassette otherwise the teeth will catch between the fibers and rip the floss to shreds. Great product though.

My husband bought these because he saw someone use them on youtube to clean the lead screws on a 3D printer. He has used a few already and loves how clean they get the lead screws that the bed is mounted on. Cleans them exceptionally well. Will be buying more in the future.

This gear floss is fantastic for cleaning the lead screws on a 3D printer. It makes the job incredibly easy, and every time I use it, the white rope comes out completely black. It works exactly the way it should.

Never knew this was a product I'd value as much as I do. I've tried many other ways to clean my 3D printer main screws, but this makes it soooooo easy. The price was a little high for what I considered such a trivial task, but once I used it, I was hooked. Pretty sure you will be too.

Anyone wanting to clean their 3D printer's lead screws (the Z axis motion control) ought to try these. Go one and a half times around the lead screw, move the floss up and down a few times, and the screws will be clean and ready for new lube. Way better than cloths, brushes, widgets that you've downloaded and printed to help with the task! Because these are ropes, it's relatively easy to do even hard-to-reach (or semi-enclosed) lead screws.

Das Reinigungsgerät selbst eignet sich gut für Ketten oder Linearschienen, ist aber in meinem Fall eher zweitrangig – die Gear Floss Fäden allein sind schon das eigentliche Highlight. Sie sind mehrfach verwendbar, wenn man sie sorgfältig auswäscht. Fazit: Für alle, die ihren 3D-Drucker sorgfältig warten wollen, ist das Gear Floss Set eine geniale Hilfe. Gerade bei Gewindestangen, wo Präzision zählt, liefert es perfekte Ergebnisse. Klare Empfehlung für Maker!
