Great barrels
Great barrels. They do require a solid support to be stable as they are very heavy when full. They do not leak and were easy to assemble. Purchase a diverter for your downspout so you have the option to turn water on/off to the barrel! You won't be sorry!! My only other suggestion would be if you purchase multiple barrels don't assume they are the same height. We made that mistake when drilling holes to connect them and as you can see in the picture one barrel was significantly shorter. Overall, very happy with this setup!

Works Great!!!
Watch for leaking around the spigot, easy fix though!! Bought this during a drought and it didn't fail us!!! Waters my garden and fills bird baths! Don't buy the base...just set it on large bricks!!!

Excellent quality and look very good
We got three of these. Great price for the amount of water they hold and they look really good. Visually super nice. We got the dark brown ones. The flow from the spigot is slow, but works pretty much as we suspected, still a very usable, gentle stream of water. One fairly decent rain and they are filled, so expect that. We use them to water plants and the plants LOVE the rain water. In the hottest part of the summer (we live on the Texas Gulf Coast) there is not enough rainfall to keep the high use ones filled so we fill it with municipal water a couple of times during the summer, which gives the tap water time to off-gas most of the chlorine before we use the water. We have found we need to secure the top screen debris traps because we lost one in a heavy rain, never to be found again. I wish there were made to be fastened down a little tighter so we didin't have to jerryrig a solution, but we figured it out with only one screen loss. One of the three seems to have a slow leak, although we cannot identify where it is. I suspect it was something in the shipping. It still works and it is such a slow leak it doesn't really affect how it holds water. For the most part they work great, look very good, and are an easy and reliable way to gather rain water at a reasonable cost.

love it, my plants love it
IT IS GREAT. NOTE : USE A REGULAR HOSE ON IT, not the shrinky kind.

Great looking rain barrel and stores water w/o leaks
This rain barrel is nicely built and was easy to assemble. The cost is decent as I chose this one over others that were a pricier yet looked similar in look / size. One storm passed and the rain barrel was full! I use this to water my plants and it works great. I haven't used a hose with this (likely would use on the lower spigot) so that is something I need to try.

Great for collecting rain water
Great for collecting water from roof. Placed in front yard to water all my local plants and not have to use hose from hydrant in back yard. Placed on blocks and gravity provides flow.

Spigot does not thread easily
I was very careful to thread the spigot into the barrel, but I still had a lot of problems. I layed the barrel on it's back as the instructions suggested. I made sure it was not inserted at an angle and very slowly I began to thread the spigot into the barrel. It was smooth at first but then it started to become tight and went in at an angle. I was not applying much pressure. I slowly backed out and tried again, and I did this several times, each time more careful than the last, and each time it just got worse. The plastic was easily stripped by the brass spigot threads. I believe I was being very careful. I finally had no choice but to force the spigot in at an angle and I could only get it in about halfway. There is a small leak from the threads. I attempted to patch the leak with epoxy, unsuccessfully, perhaps because there was still water in the barrel. It's not that bad, though, and the barrel stays pretty full. I cut my guttering and reattached the diverter to lead the water into the barrel. This only took about half an hour. Because the spigot is placed at the very bottom of the barrel, I put the barrel up on cinder blocks (purchased for a few bucks at Lowe's) so I would have enough space to fill a watering can. It was difficult to bring the can close enough to the spigot, so I attached a 3 foot hose ($5 at Walmart) and this seems to work fine. This is my first barrel so it was a bit difficult to adjust to the small amount of water pressure but I have learned some patience. All in all I'd say it does the job.

These are great so far, they're easy to install and look good. We like the way they nicely tuck in beside the house and they seem to be good quality. We built a stand for ours for ease of water flow. We'll see how they last over time, but would recommend trying these for sure.

I was concerned when I purchased my first rain barrel because of the handful of complaints here in the reviews but I went ahead with the purchase anyhow. After it arrived I set it up and put it under a downspout that I modified. This was the most difficult part of the shole exercise. The barrel held water after the first rain and then after subsequent rains, it filled and excess water came out of the overflow. There were no leaks because I followed the instructions during set-up. In the end, I purchased two more and have been watering my garden for the past several months using the stored rainwater. I have come to the conclusion that the complaints were from people who cross threaded the spigot or did something else wrong because the barrels I got were all well constructed and easy to assemble.

We bought three of these from a local vendor about two years ago. Loved them so much we decide to purchase them online when our local vendor no longer carried them. Great barrel. Flat back, fits nicely against the house. Spigots fit tightly, no need for caulk or plumbers tape. Easy to connect to other barrels.
