I bought this Mayfair Bennett Toilet Seat and I am very impressed. This is a very strong and durable product. The material is high quality, heavy duty and not cheap plastic. Very easy to install, took me only 10 minutes. The seat is very comfortable, doesn't move or slide. Hinges are metal and very strong. It looks very premium and looks good in bathroom. Easy to clean as well. For the price, this is the best value. If you need a strong, long-lasting toilet seat, buy this one without any doubt. I will buy again!

I am so impressed with the quality of this toilet seat for the price. I was truly not expecting how well this is made. And the ease of putting it on is beyond any other toilet seat we have ever had is sturdy, substantial, and works even better than I thought it would. When I was installing the seat and tightening the nut at the bottom, the bottom piece broke off, and I assumed I had tightened it too much and broke it. However, when I read the instructions further, it explicitly said tighten until the bottom portion snaps off. What a relief! And so when I put the second one on, I knew exactly when it was tightened enough. I can’t say enough about how well this toilet seat is made and how well its functions. Do ! However you view shopping for a replacement toilet seat (unpleasant bore, amusing novelty, engaging research project), based on my shopping experience, I heartily recommend you halt your search here and just purchase this Mayfair model 26CHSL 000. This seat has the best overall appearance and function of several that I've tried, and it sells in the popular price range. The seat is the only one whose enamel finish exactly matches the white porcelain of my American Standard (other seats appeared just slightly ivory-tinted compared to the porcelain under good skylight). The hinges have a solid robust build, very securely attached at all points, and with a perfect chrome finish that should match your chromed flush handle. The installation is simple and eliminates the potential for loosening up later. The "slow close" feature (which I never knew I wanted before I tried this seat) works perfectly. Simply put, the seat appears and performs exactly right, at a good price. Some reviews reported cracks, corrosion, etc. Admittedly, such reviews at first put me off this model. However, in the end my shopping experience led back to this Mayfair 26CHSL 000. The reported flaws are probably quality control issues applicable to a very small percentage of seats coming off the line. Virtually all flawed seats get reported here compared to the small minority of satisfied customers who leave reviews.

Searched for months for a replacement to our previous Church Elongated Soft Close Toilet seat that had cracked and the soft close mechanism had given out long ago. Lots of options but almost all had universally bad or mixed reviews. Finally decided on this model and so far, it's been great. Install is a breeze, it's sturdy with no movement, the fit and finish are about as good as it gets. The soft close works real well so far and we'll see how long it lasts. It's easy to clean, and as a bonus, it seems to be warmer than the previous seat as it doesn't seem to soak up the cold from the cold water in the tank.

This is a well made and strong toilet set with lid. It stays in place very well and is nicely elongated which fits with my existing toilet (that was discontinued by a major manufacturer!). So I had to find a replacement brand for an equally comfortable new seat-set. This was it! I’m pretty happy with this… with one exception. I have the oil rubbed bronze version.. and it looks great when freshly installed. But the bronze color, which is adhered to the hinges, chips off over time. I have purchased this multiple times due to this issue. The overall value keeps me coming back. Otherwise the build quality is good. It’s not flimsy plastic. And the included attachment hardware to the toilet itself is very secure. So I am very happy with that. Cleaning requires occasional bleach products to keep it sparking clean and white. But what doesn’t in the bathroom? Overall, happy with this purchase.

It was SO simple to install - Im going to surprise my hubby.I did It All Myself!! :) And it is so royal feeling, its like thicker seat & stuff. You feel like you are really "held" on the seat. And the seat & top BOTH close slowly! Just Great & Worth It.

This Mayfair Bennet (formerly Bemis? pretty sure) is a metal hinged seat (which is not plastic; the seat is either wood or mdf, not sure but thicker/heavier than plastic) that our household has used for years. First time ordered from Amz. The metal hinges stay put much better than plastic ones, so it's great for the large people in our household that put more wear & tear on it due to weight. If you have large family members, I highly recommend this toilet seat because it will stay put better and last longer than flimsy plastic seats with plastic hinges.

This is a really nice toilet seat with quality metal hinges BUT where it lacks in quality are the nuts that hold the seat on. The hex ends break on them just as they are starting to tighten up. How can you skimp on the fasteners that literally hold the damn seat to the toilet?!

It seems a little odd to be writing a rave review on a toilet seat, but this product deserves it: it is quality through and through. From the heavy duty hardware to the solid, white enamelled wood seat, the whole thing exhibits great design and craftsmanship. After putting up for years with crummy, lightweight plastic seats, this is a real addition to our bathroom.

Took a long time to arrive and when it did the toilet seat was scratched and the fittings broken.

I first bought one to try on the guest bathroom toilet but ended up buying a second one for the master bedroom bathroom! They have the soft close so quiet when closing and very sturdy and solid to sit on!
