I have always had an interest in bats since we rescued one a few years ago. I like to think that by putting this up I will be helping in my own little unobtrusive way.This will allow bats to shelter safely away from predators. It can also be a sleeping place in summer or for nesting and wintering. Put out the welcome mats for your nocturnal visitors all year round. Please do not disturb them when they are at home, when leaving to gather food.The pine wood is rough and untreated and will be perfect for their little claws to grasp onto.Unfortunately dwindling habitats are a threat to bats and this is a perfect way to help contribute to environmental protection.It is advised to mount at least 10 feet above ground, 12-20 feet is better. Choose a sunny location, works best with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.Advised not to mount on trees as it will receive less sun among the branches and they are more vulnerable to predators sitting in tree. Also obstructions in the form of branches and surrounding vegetation make it more difficult for bats 🦇 to drop into flight.Your little friends will also contribute to a healthier garden as their excrement is an excellent fertiliser and they act as natural pest controllers and are therefore extremely useful to you to.Priced at £18.35 I feel it is very reasonable for the quality received and doing your bit for the environment.

I have mounted this in a suitable place up out of the way of disturbances, come the spring / summer I hope this will allow bats to utilise. Overall a useful and welcome addition to any garden environment.

What lovely idea this is. We have a lot of bats living out our way and often see them flitting about at dusk. It would be wonderful if one took up residence in this little box. It is very well made, of natural materials and it looks very appropriate with the little bat motif on the front. My son is going to install it for me high up on the back wall of the shed, where there is both sunshine and a bit of privacy. Hopefully there will be new tenants soon.

This bat box looks lovely in the garden, it's a very simple design yet well made, has fittings connected so it's ready to screw to the fence. Love it

I didn't think that we had bats around here until my naughty cat bought one in, that little bat got taken straight to the local bat rescue but I felt guilty that my cat had caused harm to an animal like that so I thought that by providing a house for them to hide safely in I could somehow make amends. This is a lovely house, it is small but then again the bat we found was tiny so I think that quite a few can fit in there. It seems well made and I like the little bat on the front. No bat has moved in yet but hopefully, they will at least visit their new hotel and perhaps shelter there if a mean cat tries to pick on them again.

We have lots of bats around with some taking swipes at my partner when he's having a cigarette by the back door at night which we both quite like and love watching them dart back and forth, so it would be great if they use this as an extra hangout once we put it up. Seems very solid and well made and love the simple and natural looking design of the two tone untreated wood and the bat on the front. The screw on the back needed tightening a little and there was a small lump of dried glue on the roof but it came off just using my finger nail and otherwise seems perfect and very well made. good value and hopefully tempting as a halfway-house for bats on the hunt.

we live out in the countryside so we are super hopeful this will end up being used by the bats. its very well made and a good price and is easy to fix into place wherever you decide to put it. its a lovely idea for kids to be able to see nature at work this close up and we cant wait to see a bat moving in soon.

Unser großer Natur-Teich wird von vielen Fledermäusen als Jagdrevier genutzt. Da Fledermäuse unzählige Insekten fressen, haben wir im Sommer kaum Probleme mit Stechmücken.Damit sich die Fledermäuse bei uns wohlfühlen, haben wir ihnen diesen kleinen Fledermauskasten aus unbehandeltem Kiefernholz gekauft (und noch einen zweiten etwas größeren Kasten). Die Kästen dienen im Sommer als Wetterschutz, Unterschlupf und Schlafquartier.Man sollte immer mehrere Kästen in unterschiedlichen Größen aufhängen, da Fledermäuse ihre Schlafquartiere öfter mal wechseln. Mit dieser Methode schützen sie sich vor Krankheiten und Parasiten.Wir haben den Kasten in 4,5 Metern Höhe befestigt und dabei darauf geachtet, dass er ohne Hindernisse direkt angeflogen werden kann. Durch seine relativ große Öffnung von etwa 4 cm und das leicht schräg verlaufende Vorderteil ist er auch für größere Fledermausarten geeignet.Besonders gut an diesem Fledermauskasten gefällt uns die saubere Verarbeitung, das stabile Anflugbrett mit Rillen sowie das rustikale Rindenholzdach und die hübsche Fledermausdeko.Wir freuen uns schon auf den Sommer und hoffen, dass die Fledermäuse ihren neuen Kasten genauso gut finden wie wir!
