Glass World: Undying Mercenaries Series, Book 13

Breaking Glass
Here’s another stellar escapade in the long running World Series by BV Larsen. Again McGill is breaking rules and heads while he storms into the Glass world deployment. The writing continues to be top notch, the plot grows ever more complex, and the alien location and species continue to amaze. The characters are strong and their relationships, verbal quips, and combat actions can bring a good laugh or a blush.

Loving The UM Books
James McGill is up to his eyeballs in nefarious dealings with Winslade and company and the bears and the creepy crawlers. A cameo appearance by Armel (I hate this guy almost as much as Claver). But yet our hero prevails. Never a dull moment.

The price for newer technology can be high.
In this chapter, following the drama of all the protagonists hookups can be difficult as some of those plot lines cross over. And yes, there is action as well! The chance to gain tech to better their defenses cones at a price. Recommended

Why Does He Stay?
As always, Larson tells a story like no others. It's hard to even put it down once started. But I have to ask, "Why does McGill even WANT to stay with this bunch of crooks?" Everyone hates him and treats him like dirt! Many at one time or another have lied, betraid, or even tried to kill him. They take credit for his ideas and accomplishments. He has plenty of money and does not owe them a thing. Frankly, they would be lost without him. So, again, why does he stick around? Why not leave and tell them all to take a hike? Let these dunderheads try to do it on their own. Let them fail. Let them "show their true stripes". Let them find someone else to do their jobs and take credit. I suppose I will not ever understand why he stays., or why they are so unwilling to work with him. Just leave! Of course, without James McGill, the Undying Mercenaries would be a short story, indeed!

Your imagination will find fulfillment!
I have read almost all of BV Larson's books in the various series. Unfortunately, I am completely caught up on the Undying Mercenary series with this latest book in the series, Glass World. Why do I say unfortunately? I will tell you. To experience something like this series, not just a few books, but an adventure that satisfies on so many levels: stimulating the imagination, enjoying humorous moments at the same time the fate of humanity is constantly at risk with a wide range of interesting characters from Earth and beyond. The ingredients BV Larson mixes together continually produces such a delightful taste that my brain and heart long for. So after consuming this latest morsel, Glass World, I sit here in my COVID quarantine state, yearning, longing, dreaming for that next taste, that next morsel, that next book. Will I make it through the quarantine? Perhaps if the next book comes soon to quench my soul's thirst, my imagination's need for adventure. For those of you that do not understand what I am saying, I will now say it this way. I highly recommend this book and this series. Very good sci-fi.

Ok Mr Larson... been really enjoying your series. It’s overly stressful and seems overly contained that McGill has been kept at Centurion for a NUMBER of adventures.Regardless of Drusus’s failed promotion attempt later in the book ... its wrong. We are cheering for Tribune McGill to finally come to his own.I have a guess about this whole series.Literally as I see it EVERYTHING that has transpired has been recorded on the “tappers” - as such in the final combination of it all McGill will be nominated to be Emperor based on the FACT that he has been the fulcrum of success and GOOD judgement at every conflict.Mr Larson - let’s get back to the big story. Will McGill thwart the Mogwa extermination? Will he mollify the other races? But please .... please .... please.Part of the joy of this series is seeing McGill get [email protected]

Good, but not the best in the series...
Not as strong a story as some of the others in the series, but still a good read. As expected, good ole boy, James McGill saves the day and the book is another fine addition to the series. I'd like to learn more about Graves and his history. B.V. Larsen gave us a few tidbits in this story, but I'm curious for a lot more. In fact, you could probably write a whole spin off book on his history and the origins of Legion Varus. Come to think of it, that might be a good title for the next book in the series... "Origins World"? (Ok, I'll shut up and leave the wonderful creative story telling to Mr. Larson)

Loved it
Every book is a complete entertainment. McGill, is a complete package of all good and bad qualities you would want in a hero.

Another great book
I've been reading B.V. books for awhile now, and it's sad I got to the last book of this series but the last two books even made my laugh at times about McGill. Honestly I can't find any negative of this book, well accept Winslade I wish he would be permed finally lol. But overall another great book in the series. I look forward to reading the next one. Keep up the great writing B.V. it would be awesome to see this series as a tv show or a series of movies.

again very nice read
I love this series. It makes me laugh all the time for its absurdness and rogueish charm. I'd really want to know how this story unfolds. Maybe a bit less forgiveness and more smartening up. E.g. why should anyone have brought back Winslade? I didnt get that, it didnt make any sense.Maybe a bit more perming. Dont be afraid to off a character or two. Worked for GoT ...
