Installed both on 2018 Silverado 3500HD, Diesel
I was impressed when I went on line to check out the PPE website - their cut away of their filters surpassed all of the ones I have reviewed previoulsy on line. I also checked the Silverado forms concerning spin on filters for engines. This engine filter is huge and filters down to 5 micron. The Trans Filter is deeper than the Allison and is visible looking from the side, but I do not plan on going off road with my 4x4 stock height dually. The 3500HD has 76K miles and the trans fluid needed to be changed. Dropped the pan, new internal filter, the PPE spin on filter and 12 qts of Transynd, I believe I will not have any problems making 2400 mile round trips, towing loaded 10K lbs trailer in the future.

Great quality products!!
Great solid filter but man this oil filter is LONG!! The filter seems hearty and well built but it hangs more than twice as far away from the engine as stock. Have no fear, there is enough room. Just a little concerned about the leverage when full and bouncing down the roads. All in all a great deal and will buy again!

Nearly cost me an engine…
Changed oil over 20 yrs never had a filter leak. This was fine last night when I put it on and pulled it out of the garage. No leaks. Cold start this morning and it blew nearly all the oil out of it. Luckily the truck shut off or it would have destroyed the engine. Checked the filter, put it back on, tightened, added oil. Started the truck and oil blowing out of the filter seal again. Put a Wix on it, added oil and it’s perfectly fine…. So much for a better filter, and 2.5 gallons of wasted oil! Over $100 mistake. Never again.
