7’6” 4wt - Perfect backpack and creek rod! *Update: purchased 6’8” 3wt
I bought this rod for some of the tight areas I fish, it definitely serves this purpose well. The rod build and components seem higher grade than its price point would indicate. This rod casts small dry flies like a champ, it roll casts really well. Swing weight is ok, it’s lighter than a Fenwick Featherlite 7’ 3/4wt, but not by much. The rod does seem to be a little faster action than other glass rods I have casted, which I really like. I also really appreciate that this is a 4pc rod, it is a nice small portable package in its rod tube, great for a backpack. I can see this rod becoming one of my favorites, over many of the carbon rods I own. After spending a few hours casting this Moonlit, I’m seriously considering ordering the 5 or 6wt to add to my arsenal.Update: I added the Moonlit Lunar S-Glass 6’8” 3wt to my arsenal. I love the action of this rod, it is definitely a little faster than you would expect, but still has that deep bend when you have a fish on. I can easily cast 35 - 40’ without any effort, and she is deadly up close. The swing weight is light, fast tip recovery, great components and build quality, and beautiful light brown finish. There really isn’t anything I can say negative about this rod.

Great for trying out a glass rod.
I'm a new fly angler and frankly I cast slow, this rod is great for matching the tempo of a slower caster who isn't trying to force it. High quality, great build, the fit and fish are well done for a rod under 200 dollars and with the right reel this rod sings on a moderate to small river. Caught my first fish on the fly with it.

The 6wt is a limp noodle.
I had high hopes for this rod based on the reviews. I have several fiberglass rods so I am used to slow action rods. Sadly their 6wt has no backbone whatsoever. My 3wt can cast better in the wind than this rod. Truly a disappointment. Even not casting in the wind it was a struggle casting a weighted #12 nymph more than 25 feet. I won’t drop names but used to have a top of the line custom 6wt glass rod that was a joy to use on the stream. The moonlit is a nightmare. I can’t recommend.

Best glass rod on the market for the $$
I have fished a lot of rods over the course of my fly fishing career. These Lunar glass rods by Moonlite fly fishing have quickly become my favorite. I own several now and I don’t fish anything but these. They throw easy, control even the largest of fish and make amazing dry fly presentations. When ever someone asked me what rod I recommend... these are the first ones out of my mouth. You won’t be disappointed!!

Eine sehr gute Rute
I've been fly fishing for 30 years and I like fiberglass rods. I like the Moonlit No. 8 for the following reasons:It is one of the few rods that is 8.6ft and not just 8ft. I wade deep and longer rods are a little better for me..It has a relatively stiff tip and quick recovery. It has a one piece reel seat (not just a threaded piece which will loosen over time)It only has 9 rings + top ringThe rings are at a sufficient distance from the plug connection. I think that's important if the parts are sometimes difficult to remove (better grip when loosening without damaging the rings). With Arctic Silver or Grey's Platinum Extreme, a measurable 25-28 meters plus a leader are no problem. Enough for me when I'm deep in the water. The rings are ok, but I always exchange them for hard chrome-plated Sage / Fuji.I have two Moonlite class 8 rods. Please excuse my not so good english....

Great product only on first view
I honestly love this rod! I use it for perch fishing in German with nymphs and really small streamers. Squirmy worms are the go to lure though. The rod handles these lures well, although it is no casting monster. It’s also not easy to find a fitting line. Overall, this rod is simply fun and for a #3 weight glad rod, I don’t see a reason why you need to spend more!!?Update: Unfortunately, after less than a year of infrequent use, the second tip section broke simply while casting!!! This is something that should never happen to a glass rod. Irrespective of its fair price.
