great stethoscope
I am an LPN in an RN program.I have had my prestige clinical cardiology stethoscope since 2008 and love it. The interchangeable pediatric diaphragm/ bell design is an outstanding feature. Acoustics for heart or lung sounds are better than the Littman classic (I have compared them both) . I know from the reviews that some people have had issues with the ear tips, but this comes with 3 different pairs from which to choose (2 pair are comfy soft ear tips, in different sizes) ; I am unsure why some reviews indicate the earpieces dont adjust for comfort, the ones i have twist in or out depending on user preference. The tube extending to the diaphragm is a bit stiff I guess because theres 2 tubes running inside and also because its well insulated from ambient noise. All I know is I can't hear a thing in the room when this scope is in my ears, but I hear clearly whatever sounds I am auscultating. I highly recommend the item, (if the company is still constructing them like they did 4 years ago!) Mine is still in great shape, I have had no quality issues with it so far!

Prestige has gone downhill
Worthless. I had an older model of this steth that a coworker gave me. I loved it. It sounded better than any littman I'd tried, even the cardio 3. after 3 years of abuse the tubing began to stiffen so I bought this one this one as it appeared to be the same model. It isn't. It is rediculosly heavy. Like much heavier than an electronic! The tubing is huge thick and sticky, kept snagging back of my neck hair. Gross! Ow! And worst of all, I couldn't hear anything with it. A coworker of mine had a similar experience. He previously loved the prestige clinical classic (knock off of littman ii se) but when he bought a new replacement, it just wasn't as good.I was very disappointed. I'd previously had bad experiences with littman (neither classic ii or cardio 3 worked for me at all), and ultra scope (I'm pretty sure every paramedic that swears by them is just kidding). I began to worry that id never find the right scope for me until I tried a coworkers littman master cardio. Amazing. Also tried a master classic and liked it too.At any rate.. prestige isn't what it used to be. Save your time and money and don't bother with this brand even if you've previosly had good experiences. The discomfort alone makes it garbage.I see a lot of students on steth reviews. My advice to anyone looking for the perfect scope: get a littman lightweight or something similarly cheap but with good reputation to get thru school. Do not buy an expensive one. Save your money. The $200 one that works for everyone else may be worthless for you, and money is already tight. And you may end up taking job in a specialty that doesn't need one. Try every scope you can get your hands on and keep practicing your auscultation skills. Its frustrating. Its like you have to have the skills to know which one is right for you, yet can't build the skills without the right tool. Don't let it get expensive.

I really like the sound of this steth
Bought 2 years ago, holding up well. The biggest problem I have with steths is as I drape them on my neck without jacket or similar the tubing gets stiff. Having used probably 15 different kinds of steths including electric/amplified, I really like the sound of this steth. I use both diaphragms and have no difficulty with switching from one to the other. Ear pieces do well, had tried different ones that accompany this steth. For the price the sound is very good. I have used littman cardiology and prefer this, and also prefer the price very much.

Great Deal
There are plenty of cheap stethoscopes out there, but for just a little more, I got stainless steel construction and lots of extras. It works great, as good as the top of the line models for many times more. It actually is a top-performing instrument and will last a lifetime. The only problem I have is that too many people want to "borrow" it. But I have no problem saying "no."

Comparing to the Littman Cardiology III, this stethoscope seems ...
Comparing to the Littman Cardiology III, this stethoscope seems of much lesser quality. I do not hear nearly as well with it. Additionally, one of the ear tips has already fallen off with light to normal usage. Would definitely not purchase this stethoscope again.

OK stethoscope, bad eartips
This is not a bad stethoscope (I actually like it quite a bit), but the rubber eartips are of poor quality. I used both sets (it comes with 2 sets of the eartips) within first few months. They had cracked and fell apart (as if the rubber was too old and dry). Amazon customer service did not do anything for it and redirected me to the Prestige medical customer Service. I tried to contact Prestige medical several times with no luck, but eventually they responded. They offered free eartip replacement. Will see how long this set lasts.

Good deal for the $
This stethoscope is nice, and the sound is good. I'd recommend it and buy it again.

Not impressed
I was not impressed. The earbuds hurt my ears, pinched to tight without anyway to adjust. I could hear well for a second and then it would pinch so tight into my ears that it would cut off all sound. I also ended up with a bad earache by the end of my shift.
