Way too spicy and didn't rehydrate properly
I was super excited to try these as they look like a great option for vegan/DF/GF backpacking foods but was really disappointed. I tried the borscht and it tastes nothing like borscht because it's way too spicy. So spicy that nobody in my group was able to eat much more than a bite or two without it making our lips and tongue burn. The product also didn't rehydrate properly. It was more than just a little but of firmness to the larger pieces, they were hard in the middle even after letting it stand for 20 minutes.Overall this was a huge let down and thankfully we had other meal options with us.

Flavor is good
We ordered this lentil and the shepard's pie meals. The flavors were good. The package it tall which made it difficult to get our camping size utensils into the bag without our hands touching the sides. We eventually started to cut them down after simmering was completed. After a long day of kayaking, hiking, etc, we had to supplement with other foods to fill our bellies.

Good
I like this, however, you have to adjust the exprctation- one bag's portion is NOT enough for an adult's meal.Since I didnt measure the water precisely, I drank it as a heartwarming vegetable soup with spices after my main course. I don't like still a bit of veggie (potato i guess) were not done.Other points: Enough spice but not spicy. Shelf life- 2 to 3 years approx. Now I've told you an adult probably needs 2 packs as a meal, is this price tag worth getting is your main consideration.

Tasty, filling, and compact
This hits all the checkmarks for a good dehydrated meal. The taste was good and well seasoned without being overwhelmed with salt, a positive for sodium-conscious campers. Calorie-wise, the package has plenty of fuel which is another important aspect of a meal taken after a long day hiking with a heavy pack. Further, calories notwithstanding, it didn't leave me feeling hungry afterwards, which is a pleasant add. The size of the package was compact as well making it easy to carry, cook, and eat from. The only drawback was that the rehydrated food was a bit on the soupy side. This could be because I added a touch too much water, or simply because the sauce didn't have quite enough thickener to give it a good stew-y consistency. Pretty minor, and maybe even personal preference. It's good food, get some.

Disappointed
I've eaten dozens of different meals form different companies while backpackingI had high hopes for this one and appreciated their attempt to make a healthy vegetable mealHowever, some of the pieces were still tough even when directions were followed, and its a bit too spicy for most tastes - I don't think it would go down well on a long hike

Yummy
I was worried because I don’t like coconut milk flavor, but you couldn’t taste it. Was very good. Didn’t rehydrate well in winter camping conditions. I left recommend time. Do yourself a favor and wait extra. Still great even with crunch.

Great for the Average Trail Blazer
I was really excited to take this into the smokies on a rainy camping trip. It was a nice hot meal to warm up on. Attractive packaging. The food looked appetizing while cooking, however the flavor was lacking a bit. I did bring extra seasoning which helped boost it to where I was hoping it would be. Filling for sure. Would be great for the average hiking meal, but if you're looking for flavor on the trail, add what you like best.

A good option for camping
This is a good option for camping. The ingredients dehydrate/rehydrate well. It’s easy to pack, easy to prepare and filling. It’s a little on the bland side for an Indian dish, but that’s easy to fix. Bring a little spice and make it as spicy as you’d like. A good value, too.
