Great Engine Analyzer for the Price.
Nice analyzer for the price. Menu display made unit easy to use. There are many online videos on how to use the unit. Unit displays run time graph on engine load, RPMs, coolant temperature, and car speed. I used this unit to check an engine light on my 2009 Honda CR-V. Engine light was on due to gas cap not completely tightened.

Perfect OBD
I have used different obd devices before, but since my vehicle is hybrid, not every obd compatible. That's why I chose this device. First of all, you can see all internal menus of the device from the pictures. My main reason for buying was that I had to measure the voltage of the hybrid system, and I took care of my problem very efficiently and quickly. Voltage measurement on other devices seems stable for 3 or 4 seconds. Thinkobd shows instantaneous readings and shows a measurement approximately every 0.5 seconds. this means a high precision device. Also, one of its best features is that it has a menu that shows what the error codes mean. Again you can see from the pictures. It is already able to delete errors. One of the other important features is that you can see if you can pass the inspection. You can see this from the pictures. I used it in 6 different vehicles, two of which were hybrid and I had no problems. It is very simple to use. Just connect it to the vehicle. Also, we cannot update the firmware. I tried to explain everything. If you are solving the problems of your vehicle yourself, it is a very good product in terms of price performance. If you have anything to ask, I will gladly answer.

Not expensive, handy easy to use.
Not expensive, handy easy to use. Can do basic diagnostics and resets for testing issues. Update was easy to firmware. If you want something to find out what is going on this should do the trick for OBD2/ EOBD equipped vehicles. Feels surprisingly NOT like garbage / toy - I'd rate it medium class simplistic tool. For me the issue I was looking to find out was vapor leak small / major.... turned out to be gas cap seal needing some work on a 2010 vehicle.

Nice product
Very easy to use. Wish it had other functions but does the job. Would recommend this product.

It works
In 2010 I purchased an Actron scanner on amazon. It still works. I purchased the Thinkobd because it is so much smaller and easier to use. I tested the Thinkobd and it works just like the Actron, except the Thinkobd is smaller and with fewer keys is much easier to use. I used the Actron about a dozen times over the 10 years I owned it and I expect the same with the Thinkobd. With a permanently attached cord and being 75% smaller the Thinkobd is easier to handle. The functions are easier to access and the updates work. The Actron did not have updates and the Actron website never worked. The update was well worth the money. One of the best things I paid $90.30 for the Actron and around $30 for the Thinkobd. Smaller size, smaller cost, less keys, easier to use you cannot lose.

Works but can't update software
At the time I purchased this on 11/23, it was a very low priced, recommend OBDII tester. It's does the job for my older cars. and is definitely more than just a code reader. So I thought I would try to update it on 4/25, for the first time. You have to go mythinkcar.com which the instructions don't tell you. The instructions for updating the ThinkOBD 100 are there, but no software. So like other reviewers have said now, you can't update this tester anymore.

Does the Job!
Don't you just hate it when your check engine light comes on? $99 to the dealer as soon as you pull into the service bay just to find out what the issue may be. This is a basic unit that ALSO has the trouble-code definitions in the database and you can do so much more"official". (Not a replacement for the full-blown dealership tech pads like the GM TechII, which can do so much more but costs THOUSAND$.) This works well and as advertised. Follow the directions. Drill down to decipher what the code is (on-board code definition) and do an on-line search-engine discovery for more common causes or help if needed. Hey, I'm not a techie, nor an auto technician, but this has already saved me 1 dealership visit and paid for itself ($25 or 1/4 the cost of 1 trip to the dealer)!

Entry Level - ThinkOBD 100
The Good: This scanner is a good entry level budget scanner under 40. Has a nice fault code library. Good for basic code checking and great at prepping for emission tests. Quality and durability are good, but will fail if you're someone who abuses their tools. Screen is legible and bright enough to read in broad day light. Vehicle's this scanner has worked on: 6th gen civics and 6th gen chargers. Was able to prep my cars though the I/M readiness function and swap out an EGR valve and pass emission test first try. The not so good: This doesn't function unless car can crank and start. Doesn't read TPMS, ABS, and battery/electrical codes. Which makes it entry level. If you're looking for a entry level code checker and a emission prep tool this is it. Anything other than basic and it's out of it depth, but still a great tool for the money. This has been after 1 year of use.

This is my first diagnostic scanner and it did the trick. My mobile mechanic had diagnosed a problem and gave me the error code but he would never come back to replace the EVAP purge valve that I had purchased on Amazon. I watched a video on Youtube and decided to replace it myself. I needed this diagnostic scanner to clear the code and now I am moving on from my mobile mechanic. I am very happy that I can diagnose my car whenever I want to. I no longer feel like I am at the mercy of a mechanic.

Thank heavens for a Scotty Kilmer, as the car mechanics only want to screw you!

I get a check engine light sometimes. Better to know what check engine light is than dealership, or MX shop charging for it. Works perfectly

Got this when my engine light came on. Plugged in to my OSD port and had move connector a bit to power on device. Screen was simple use as I never used one of these before. Read diagnostic quickly and gave me exact same code the dealer found for a control valve malfunction. My car warranty so they waived the 59 fee to check the error code and this unit works perfect for the same price and continuous usage for an end user I keep this in my vehicle. Software update easy use also. Install program connect cabkento unit and after opening update chose USB amd it auto detected serial. Then hit update button and took a few mins. Screen nice in color to navigate and to read as well.
