UPDATE - 3 years later it has been heavily used and given me no trouble at all. An excellent buy. I took a chance and bought this without any reviews after noticing with fakespot that the high ratings for similar products were fakes. I half expected it wouldn't work and would have to be sent back. To my surprise it does work, easily supporting an adult male without even turning it very hard to get the maximum grip on the doorframe. It is remarkably easy to mount. You just place screw it until it is just less than the width of the door frame, put it in position and give a few more turns. Both ends screw, one with the thread inverted so turning the bar will make both ends tighter or looser at the same time. It is, as claimed, comfortable to use, with a nice thick bar. The drawback with this method is that the bar is only about 6' from the floor so you have to bend at the knees if you want to pull from a straight arm. One gripe is that the instructions said you should first measure your doorframe carefully and check it is within the specified range. Guess what, there is no range specified anywhere. It isn't a problem. There is a lot of thread in the end bars so it would fit most single door frames. The mechanism for preventing turning is slightly odd. The clamps sit on the end pieces and abut the main bar. This means if the bar turns it will try to screw towards one end and will be unable to. When I worked out how it was supposed to function (this took some time as there is no explanation and the pictures show the clamps tightened in the wrong place, where they could not possibly achieve anything) I was dubious but it does seem to work ok. I would have given it 5 stars except that the one I received was clearly a return, already assembled and showing slight signs of wear.

The patented locking mechanism is not completely secure. Make sure you hang on the side that screws the bar tighter into the doorframe for added safety. I ended unexpectedly on the floor on my back while doing elevated rows as the bar had unscrewed itself over multiple reps. Otherwise this has given me a years worth of solid pulling exercises and the ability to easily move it within the doorframe means straight bar dips and nordic curls are easily achievable. If you want muscle ups go for something else fully fixed (aka not a doorframe bar). I've now progressed to rings but this still plays a role in my mobility work. Dead hangs through the day for shoulder health and it's more secure than my sofa for nordic curls (if your knees can cope with it at least) which means it's got longevity for my training goals too

This device is excellent. Be sure to use safely. I have been able to use this without the recommended grip surface (there is no flat surface available in my house) and it holds my weight well but I put a pile of pillows on the floor just in case it gives - so far it hasn't and it feels secure. I don't doubt that if I were using it properly I would not need the pillows (I weigh 150 lbs) What is great is that you can put it at various heights and do a variety of exercises. You can also do wide grip pull-ups with it by holding the door top with one hand and the bar with the other. *** Update*** Having returned here a few years after purchase I'm still using it. I now have a house with full door linings and this bar works superbly. I simply cannot understand the 1* ratings unless the standard of manufacturing has slipped since I bought mine. There are wider doorway chin up bars but they aren't always suitable for doors close to walls. I would highly recommend this one for general use. *** Second Update *** I bought two of these for my twin boys who are at university. The ones that turned up were exactly the same good quality as mine. I am confident that their rental deposits are safe and the doorways they use will be undamaged.

Super easy to install, and strong/sturdy enough if you fit it with the rubber stoppers that screw into the opposing surfaces the bar is installed on. I wouldn’t have confidence in the tension only mechanism with my body weight (90+kg), but had no issues with the stoppers. Comfy foam grips, even for longer sessions. I use rings and resistance bands as part of my climbing training with this bar when I can’t get outside/in the gym, and it’s been brilliant during lockdown. Customer service has been amazing too! The best I’ve received from any product I’ve purchased through Amazon! I lost some vital parts for this bar during a house move, so couldn’t use it. I got in touch and rather than send me the specific pieces I needed, they sent me a new bar for free. The people I exchanged emails with were super friendly and replied the same day. Couldn’t be happier or more impressed😊. Will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for fitness equipment through Amazon.

when I first put it into door frame I thought no chance this will work ! I tightened it up got on did 6 or 7 pull ups expecting it to come off! I was wrong it seems very sturdy I weigh about 170 pounds so not big by any means but it works fine. My only concern is it seems a little flimsy in middle but works perfectly so I am pleased with it and would recommend for sure

Was looking for a bar that's comfy, affordable, can take a decent amount of weight, and won't destroy my doorframe. This one hit the spot! Really pleased with the mechanism for attaching it to the doorframe. Just twist each end until the rubber presses into the frame. No mess, no noise and no permanence! And surprisingly sturdy given that there's no screws involved! I weigh 72kg and use this daily and there's no signs of bending or breakage so it's all thumbs up from here!

Have put it up as instructed. Does not hold my 68kg weight. Feels sturdy, then went to do leg raises and it fell down. Could have been injured. I put it in a solid wood doorframe and was tightened as much as it could. Has left hexagonal marks in paintwork

4, Stars out of 5 The SportsTech pull up bar is a good piece of equipment and an essential kit to have at home( my opinion). I found the foam griper helpful and the double locking system works well and keeps the bar more stable(I didn't even have to drill the wall for more suport). I wouldn't recommend using the bar on more then 80cm distance as it's not as solid as when you put it on a normal door. Apart from that it exceeds the previous pull up bars the I owned on every aspects.

Die Stange ist sehr stabil gebaut und die Anleitung ist einfach, sodass jeder diese verstehen sollte. Zunächst ist zu sagen, dass ich einen sehr schmalen Türrahmen habe und schon sehr oft nach einer ordentlichen KS gesucht habe, leider immer vergebens. Dieses Produkt hier, ist für meine Zwecke super. Sie ist einfach anzubringen, hält bombenfest und ist sehr angenehm zu greifen. Die Handschuhe sind nice to have, aber haben keinen wirklichem Mehrwert. Wichtig ist, dass die Stange wohl nur bei Rahmen verwendet werden sollte, die stabile Materialien haben. Ich habe einen Metallrahmen, der nicht so schnell kaputt geht oder Abdrücke bekommt; das könnte bei Holz- oder Plastikrahmen zu Problemen führen. Sitzt die Stange einmal, bekommt man sie, ohne es zu wollen, nicht wieder ab. Dennoch ist es richtig leicht, die Stange wieder zu entfernen und für anderweitige Übungen zu verwenden. Sie ist prinzipiell gut durchdacht. Für meine Zwecke ist sie völlig ausreichend und dank ihrer schmalen Größe, passt sie auch wunderbar in meinen kleinen Türrahmen. Super Produkt. Für alle, die einen stabilen, schmalen Türrahmen haben, gibt es wohl kein besseres Produkt zu dem kleinen Preis.

Der schaumstoff an der Stange ist fest und verrutscht nicht. Auch die Befestigung im Türrahmen ist kinderleicht und hält fest, so das es keine schrauben bedarf. Alles in allem habe ich bekommen was ich erwartet habe zu einem guten Preis, wie ich finde. Daher mein Fazit: 5 von 5 Sternen

Très bon rapport qualité prix, très solide, je l’ai acheté en pesant 115kg et ça n’a pas bougé !
