USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter Kit with Power Adapter for 2.5/3.5/5.25 Inch SATA or IDE Drive

[orginal 10/28/2024] Ridiculous that I need this, but it totally works to connect the Eufy Homebase 3 to a 3.5 HDD. I used this to power the 3.5 HDD, and used the "Amphenol CS-SATDRIVEX2-001 Serial ATA SATA Drive Connector Extension Cable" to connect the data the 3.5" HDD. I then used the power side of the Amphenol sata extension to power the included 2.5 HDD, and use the SATA data to USB adapter from this BIPRA kit to connect the 2.5 HDD to the USB port of the Homebase 3 as the "export drive" (selective backup). It's been running for several weeks with 8 cameras, no issues yet. I'll update this if the power adapter ever dies, it will be running 24/7.

Works well but make sure you plug it into the BACK USB ports because for some reason it will NOT work off the front USB port(s). States this in their documentation but I am one of those that reads the manual last. One other "strange" feature is that there are TWO (2) buttons on the power cord. Working in a dark room I did NOT notice this at first and thought the unit went bad on me. There is one power switch for the SATA power cable and one for the old IDE molex connection. Make sure you have the right one on or like me you will think the unit is bad. Only other downside is that the IDE connector seems a bit too tight. I was afraid I was not lining it up right but it just has a tight fit. Had a Vantec model but it kept loosing the connection to the drive for some unknown reason since there was NO movement to cause that.

This is exactly what I needed to power and run my 5.25" Blu-Ray burner for use with my laptop. This burner used to be in a desktop PC but I sold it and took the drive out, knowing I wanted to use it. My last SATA to USB adapter I was using died (I picked it up cheap from a 2nd hand store) and wasn't putting out enough power for the drive. For those wondering if this kit will provide enough power for a 5.25" desktop Blu-Ray burner, it totally does. I ripped 4 Blu-Rays for my media server set-top box as a test and then burned a few BluRays. Worked flawlessly. Also I like how you get both SATA AND IDE data AND power connectors. Great for a PC tech like myself who is always helping out friends and family with their computer problems. A++

I absolutely love this kit - it's a lifesaver! It truly IS universal! Thus far I've rescued data from four older hard drives (one 2.5" laptop drive and two 3.5" EIDE drives and a 3.5" SATA), then reformatted each. Everything went without a hitch! Transfer speeds are sufficiently fast (USB 2.0), and setup is straight forward. It's plug and play, and hot swapable. This is NOT a docking station! It is a cable adapter that features multiple hard drive connection ports (3.5/5.25" IDE, SATA, 2.5) and a separate HDD power adapter for usage when required. Please make sure your drive is sufficiently ventilated while in use (don't just sit the drive flat on the table) - older drives in particular may get HOT!

The USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter works as promised, however, the 3.0 Amp AC/DC Power Adapter is defective and it may have damaged one of my hard drives. The product worked fine at first but then the power adapter stopped working and the dual output switch let out a visible puff of smoke.

I finally got tired of looking at my old desktop towers which contained several family pictures of years past. Decided to remove the hard drives & wanted to take them to someone to extra my personal info. Didn’t do that I jumped on YouTube & found out that there were adaptors to remove data from hard drives. I looked at a few & read reviews. Decided on this one, mostly because of the reviews & it cost a little more than others. I have always thought you get what you pay for. Next was to wait & hope I didn’t screw something up by trying this myself. Got the package & off I went. I’m handy around the pc & have repaired some on my own. But, this was truly easy. Connect to hard drive, connect usb, connect to power, wait for the pc to read hard drive, then move files to new pc. I saved money & now I have a new tool to help others with the same dilemma. The motherboard in my laptop fried during a lightning storm. I purchase the Bipra USB to try to migrate all of my files to another computer. This device worked beautifully, and was simple to use. Obviously, the hard drive from the laptop does need to be removed, so if you are not computer hardware savvy, then have a friend who is competent with laptop hardware remove the hard drive. It does take some time to migrate the files, but that is to be expected. Great purchase for this issue.

A couple years ago I purchased one of these. I originally had one with a chassis where you plug in drives but the controller died. Same thing happened with my external drives. I bought this and data center quality drives for external backups and this works great. I've been using it for over a year for a backup hard drive and I had no problems. I've used it for SATA and for IDE for a drive I pulled from a failed external drive chassis. I just bought a couple of new ones just to handle moving stuff off of old external drives with failed controllers. Very good product.

Has lasted well, still in use after many years. Very flexible options: connects an external 3.5 inch desktop or 2.5 inch laptop hard disk to any computer that has a free USB 2 port (or USB 3 port). Designed for data tranfer from hard disks that are not locked into an external enclosure: the connector cables are not big, but too big to use if you can't get at the data and power ports on the external disk. Works well with SATA hard disks and with the older IDE type disks. Supports all the older operating systems, because there is no software involved, just the hardware. Has been a life-saver. Easily the best piece of hardware I've ever owned, has outlasted all other computer peripherals I've ever bought. Use it to rescue data from any computer that no longer functions, provided the hard disk itself will still power-up, even if the BIOS or keyboard or motherboard or operating system or PSU has failed, and even if the old computer won't boot. Take the disk drive out, and use this kit to connect it to your new computer -- temporarily or permanently.

Viene con dos grupos de conectores. Uno para la toma de corriente con dos cabezas (una para IDE y la otra para SATA) con sendos interruptores con indicador LED. El otro para los datos con tres cabezas (dos tipos de IDE y una para SATA) . Lo he probado con lectores DVD IDE y con discos IDE y ha funcionado de maravilla. Una anécdota es que me llegó con enchufe británico, pero lo pude sustituir por otro europeo que encontré por casa (cable estándar de ordenador).

Eine gute Lösung um mit allen möglichen Plattengrößen und Anschlusstypen umzugehen. Einfach umstecken und los geht's. Interessant auch der Anschluss am PC per SATA. Der Käufer in Deutschland sollte berücksichtigen, dass der Netzstecker von der Insel ist und hier in keine Dose passt.
