Works great and well made
Works perfectly for my potted plant. You insert the wick through one of the holes at the bottom of ur potted plant then water from top initially. They say for the first 3 months water from top until the roots reach the bottom of the pot and can water themselves. My particular plant didn’t really need that as the roots were already at the bottom and I can feel the soil is lightly moist. Very happy with this high quality self watering system.

It’s not reliable product, it would dry out your plant!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love lechuza but this is not their best product. It’s not reliable providing my plant with water and my plant is getting brown spots in all leaves, even the new ones! I’ve measured the humidity in the soil and all areas have different levels of moisture… not recommended at all!!

Worth it.
If you’re thinking about it just do it. My Alocasia love is and is putting out leaves like crazy. It’s easy to set up and keep using. Helps me out a lot with 90+ plants keeps my thirsty guys happy.

Epic fail. Need correct size clay pot for this to work. Trial and error I found one that works.
#1 problem. AFAICT to use this per instructions one needs a correct size Lechuza Growpot. Amazon does not sell them. I improvised but never would have bought this had I known. A Grillo pickle plastic container fits perfectly. Just have to cut a hole for the wick. Build quality is excellent, assembly is easy. Plan is to grow a basil in it. Everything died with the plastic container. Bought a 6 inch wide 5 inch high 6 inch deep clay planter pot which fits perfectly and plant is very happy in it.

Need to find the pot to match it.
Just like other reviews, you just put the plant bought from the store in the current pot, and insert the added string in the pot, otherwise no bottom for the inside part, it cannot be used as the regular pot. For sure pretty looking, but other Lechuza's pot is much better that you could actually "plant" it.

Don’t waste your money. Buy the dupe
These are so cheaply made that the gauge is garbage. Completely unreliable. As that is the whole point of a self-watering pot, buy the dupe. The cheap knock-off might not work either but if the lechuza pot doesn’t work any better, why pay the ridiculous price for them? I had just purchased a Thai Constellation Monstera and a Monstera Albo and since the plants themselves are so expensive, I didn’t want to risk the cheap knock off. I have inadvertently over watered them both on several occasions because the gauge sticks. They have also dried out several times for the same reason. Sure I can check them by removing the net pot and looking inside, but I paid $120 so that I wouldn’t have to do that. I would have returned them both, but I had hoped they would loosen up and start working after being used for a while. My mistake. I’m going to trash them both and repot my plants in something I can see through to check the water level. What a waste.

Missing necessary items
I love Lechuza pots but I can't recommend these. I ordered two and when they got here, I found out they don't include the portion of the pot that holds the actual plant. You're supposed to put your plant in a different pot, then put that pot into this pot. You also have to drill a hole into the bottom of your potted plant to put the wick in to get water from this pot into your plant. There are no specifications for the size of pot I need to fit into this pot. I tried ordering a plastic 5" nursing pot on Amazon, but it's loose in this pot, it's half an inch too tall, and it looks stupid. I need a plastic pot that fits perfectly into this pot without sticking up out of the top so I can put my plant in it and retain the nice esthetics. I've sent multiple emails to Lechuza and it's been 4 days with no response. If they cannot be bothered to get back to me, I'm going to return these. I can't believe Lechuza couldn't be bothered to include a fifty cent plastic net pot with these, or at the very least make it clear that they're not included and tell us where to get one that fits.
