HestraArmy Leather Expedition - mitt

Well made mittens, disappointing quality of the liners fabric. It's not just a soft fleece but some synthetic material that I found to be unpleasant to the touch. For someone with the sensitive skin it's not the material you'd want to touch with the dry wintery fingers. The liner mitts come with the gauntlet finger, which some, like me, love to hate. As I discovered after opening the package, it was included in the description but hidden somewhere in the text. I didn't notice it until after receiving these mittens and trying them on.The outside mitten surprised with the synthetic lining. To my surprise, they were not made out of wool, though they were softer and more pleasant to the touch than the liners. I tried other Hestra mittens in the past that had wool lining, so I am not sure whether this switch was a modified or simply a different style. The wool lining would certainly feel much more pleasant to the touch.Separate comment about sizing. I ordered a Small. The received pair felt like a Woman's Large. Thus, when selecting size, think of this style when making your selection.

Think they would be awesome if they were usable. I have a mens medium with short fingers sized hand. They are probably incredibly warm, but it is definitely at the expense of bulkiness to the point of not being able to grip anything well. Just a draw back on the dexterity vs warming scale.

Perhaps this is common for these types of mittens, but I love the features.I love that these mittens have a removeable liner, which is itself very warm, and has the index finger separate from the rest.I love the wrist strap to keep the mittens close by when I need to take them off temporarily, such as to work my phone or reach into a pocket. I just take them off and let them drop (hanging by the strap) and don't have to awkwardly tuck them under my arm or jam them into a pocket.After some practice, they are easy to get on and off and pull the gator over my coat sleeve.The grip is fine, though I do only light work with them on.They are very bulky, but I presume that goes with how extremely warm they are - given current technology.

Best gloves in the world. Warm & Dry. I bought these for my wife. Her gloves kept getting wet but now that does not happen.

Great design for extreme environments with 3 layers. Having got frostbite in the past I believe these will help prevent this again. Can also change the trigger mitt liner for other liner options so this glove has great flexibility for different uses, etc... Although still to test it in the field!
