Glad to find this magnificent tea
Kam Wo tea is an ancient Chinese tea that made its way through China and Russian. In the original version it says that it cures the plague. Well, it doesn’t but it can make one feel better through a cold or flu or just generally feeling poorly. I use my French press to steep half a packet with boiling water for half an hour. It’s a very strong black tea. I add some local honey as slice of orange. Continental Kam Wo comes in tea bags. Hong Kong variety is loose tea packed in small boxes. I think the packets are reminiscent of an elegant past. This is a strong magnificent tea to be enjoyed for its stalwart qualities.

Very different packaging to those sold in HK.
The tea leaves are contained in plastic packets instead of this Brand’s signature “little box“ (see photo). One of the labels which is normally affixed across the box is also printed directly on the box instead. Prospective buyers need to decide for themselves as to whether this is what they are expecting when they make the purchase.

Interesting artisan all herb tea. Tame for a medicinal
I bought my box in the "China Town" in Montreal. I was on the counter in a Herbal and Medicinal Tea shop that has a wall full or wooden drawers and a wall of glass jars or herbs and teas in addition to packaged teas. The package g caught my eye and I had to buy the box. I chuckled to my female self as I bought it not knowing if it was a male enhancement product or a cure for the common cold.I researched it after getting home. I have since tried it and did not find it to to be as bitter as many report. It was no more bitter to me than an over steeped black tea. After the first few sips it is not bad at all and drinks well enough. I bought it for curiosity and will reserve it for the fall flu and cold season then report back on effectiveness. The herb selection, hand crafting and artisan efforts in making this tea, hand boxing it then wrapping in the outer papers before cartooning it up make it worth the money. This is not a mass consumer product.I see comments about it curing the plague. It more precisely says, "intoxicating plague" . My research indicates this tea is used as a hangover cure. I believe this term is an awkward translation for hangover or "intoxication plaque"
