Worth it if you frequently travel.
Purchased to take medication that requires refrigeration on trips. Before we take a trip, we would have to make sure that the hotel/air B&B had a refrigerator. Even then, some refrigerators (especially mini fridges) have very poor temperature control - too cold or hot. Therefore, we would use the freezer at the rental to freeze ice packs and use the ice packs in our personal cooler. We wanted a reliable device that would help us travel lighter with greater peace of mind, since the replacing the medication would be more costly than the device itself.Upon tested the unit, we found that it kept a vial of water at the optimal temperature, between 34-45 degrees F. It didn’t freeze the water in the vial (some meds are inactivated by freezing) or getting too hot (> 46 F). The estimates of battery run time were accurate, and temperature didn’t fluctuate outside the optimal range even in the last 30 minutes of battery power. Battery power alone will not be sufficient for international flights. To field test it, we were going to plug the device into an airplane seat power port. Sadly, COVID-19 cancelled all of our travel plans.Conclusion. Works well in a controlled environment. Not too loud. Will revise the review once some trips have been completed. Will likely bring both the Lifeinabox and some ice packs for the first few trips (just in case).

Needs a better battery
I charged the battery to capacity following all instructions on how to charge it.The ambient temp today is 71 degrees f. I did a test to see how long the battery would last.It lasted 3 hours. That is not going to be very good for travelling on flights where there is no outlet to plug into. The battery should last the 6 hours they say... it does not. VERY DISAPPOINTED. My medicine costs $10,000 a month. It has to stay cold or it is ruined.

Excellent solution
From the unpacking experience to the first use this product has convinced me. Finally a solution for all of us that need to keep their medicine cooled. It's freedom to travel, freedom to live! No more worries and painstaking planning, just grab your Lifeinabox and take off. What a wonderful idea, perfectly executed with a great design. Why did this not exist since years? Kudos to the people that came up with this. They improved my quality of life.

Good Quality Mini-fridge with minor issues
I bought this fridge for emergency power outages to store insulin for my father. We don't plan on purchasing a full gas/diesel generator for this situation, so I've begun to explore other non-ice bag options. So this mini-fridge is a low energy option to be used with much bigger backup batteries. I would consider purchasing the $130.00 battery if we ever plan to travel with it for the size. I do not intend to use the bluetooth function nor do I need it for more than 6 viles. The fridge so far is working fine for my purposes, the build quality is very nice along with the design and size. I wish there were more neutral color options. The wattage is between 15 to 23 for anyone who wants to know. But the reason I remove 1 star, is that the battery on mine last 4 hours fresh out the box tested a few times, not 6 hours. I did follow the manual's instructions on how to turn off the logo light, it works sometimes and other times you have to unplug and try again. I had the same lack of cooperation when turning off the fridge from the on/off switch on the side (not the other better switch on the bottom battery). Perhaps they will correct those issues on a newer model, I don't mind them for now, again just restart the device and they tend to work the second or third try. But the battery life is a disappointment, that I will have to work around for my purposes. I still would recommend the product to others for emergency or travel.

Dead after 12 weeks. Poor customer support. Bad app. RUN AWAY.
The product worked great when I first received it but, in less than 12 weeks, the fan underneath the unit starting making a grinding sound, the unit started sounding an alarm because it was overheating, and the temperature inside shot up to unsafe storage levels. I tried running it on AC and DC but the problem persists. I live in California so my intended use was for both travel AND for keeping my meds accessible in the event of a power cut during wildfires (without having to open my big fridge). I never traveled with it. It just sat unmolested on my counter and stayed plugged into the mains. And it broke in less than 12 weeks. So if you think you're dragging this unit up a mountain or taking it on a long road trip, I'd advise you to think again. Maybe this thing was only intended for short term usage during travel instead of my need to permanently store my meds in it (though there was nothing in the directions that warned against continuous use).I contacted the seller, who replied quickly. S|He agreed to fix and return the unit if I send it to FRANCE. For $250 -- and especially with a medical device -- I expected better quality and more robust engineering. And with only 12 weeks of usage, I'd expect them to ship me a new on and accept this one back for refurbishing. I'm VERY disappointed and angry at the rip-off.There are some minor annoyances with the app, too -- doesn't retain your C/F preferences, it's audible all over the main floor of my home when it's running, and the app often flatly refuses to connect to the device -- but, as long as it kept my meds cooled, those weren't deal breakers (although, again, I expect more for $250!). All in all, avoid this thing.I would encourage you to look elsewhere. There aren't a lot of products in this market but blowing $250 on a flimsy, unreliable unit like this will only give you the feeling of security. Not actual security. The only way this thing might help you is if you're walking unevenly because you've got a spare $250 weighing you down on one side. Otherwise, it's a hunk of junk.

Stopped maintaining consistent temperature
Had to return this device to the manufacturer. Stopped maintaining a consistent temperature, risking expensive medication. After some back and forth email discussion and verification of defect, manufacturer provided a refund through Amazon.
