The Champagne of Licorice
I have tried licorice from here and from there... from California, from New York, from Paris, France, from Tokyo, Japan. My licorice-hunting days are over. Pontefract is a place name; seems to have been a famous English castle there. I heard Pontefract licorice mentioned on the popular tv show "Great British Bake-Off." Waterbridge Pontefract Cakes [pieces] are the best, most delicious licorice I have ever tried. Bar none. Let a piece begin to melt in your mouth. This is like licorice champagne. There are many other good licorices, there are other companies touting Pontefract, but if you want the best, Waterbridge is the one you want.

Adored Flavor
This was a gift for a good friend that said the licorice is one of his most favorite things ever.Although it’s pricey, for those that love the flavor, nothing else will do. He was very happy which made me happy. Thanks for having this available.

Good licorice
This is the best licorice I've had in a long time. Too much money for my budget.

I wish I knew if it was actually produced in the famed town of Pontefract.
I'm not certain this was produced in Pontefract, England. The label didn't make it clear so I think it's probably phony. But it was good.

The Haribo brand are just a tad sweeter and that’s what I prefer

Wish they were more available
These are a favorite but in the states I can’t get them at shops. These were a solid version.
