LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batmobile 76139 Building Kit (3,306 Pieces)

First of all, the 1989 Batmobile is the most iconic, sleek, and intimidating vehicle in the entire franchise. This set recreates that machine in precise detail from nose to tail. The scale of this LEGO set is impressive, but if you wanted Batman to drive it your minifig is woefully small for these seats. Sorry not sorry.

Very cool, and was bigger than I thought

I’m a senior and I loved doing models as a kid. Covid is keeping me indoors and isolated for health reasons. I rediscovered model building. My five grandsons all loved, and the three youngest still love building LEGO so a few months ago I started giving it a try. I’ve done the London double decker bus, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle,the Bugatti Chiron and now the Batmobile. This is by far the most challenging. I was in over 300 steps and realized something was off by one dimple on one side. The lesson learned was to make sure to be precise, and follow the directions exactly. I needed to deconstruct all the way back to the chassis base and start over again from step 30. I found where I had errored at step 107. I spent 20 days (about 4 to 6 hrs a day) on this. Great fun and I can’t wait to see the six year old and ten year olds faces when I present the completed model to them on Hanukkah.

Fantastic set, very detailed. Took over 12 hours to assemble. Cons: There were a few steps that seemed out of order causing some difficulty, a few of the exterior details are kinda fragile, it’d be cool if the gun covers were hinged instead of removable, and the mini figs are a smaller scale than the car. Pros: It’s huge, stands out in any room it’s displayed in, was a blast to put together, and the rotating stand is perfect. I’d love to see LEGO come out with official light kits. I installed one that just does the front and back lights, adds a lot to it.

Before you buy this, just know it's big. It's a little bit longer than an IKEA Billy bookcase is wide, so don't go thinking you're going to display it there. The details captured by its enormous size are remarkable. That Batmobile is nothing but curves, and through a really creative use of pieces and several building techniques that dance right on the cusp of being illegal, so is this Lego set. The downside of it being such a large set is that, at roughly double minifig scale, the three included minifigs can't ride in it. Well, they can, but they're so much smaller than the seat, they look ridiculous. Batman can't even do that much. His cape, gloriously billowing, prevents him from doing anything but striking a heroic pose. Total build time was about 10 enjoyable hours, spread out over three days, 24 numbered bags, and 619 total steps. Most of the decorated pieces use stickers, though 7 have designs pre-printed on them. You'll wind up with a working steering system, machine guns that raise/lower using the rear jet turbine, and a sliding cockpit canopy. The instruction book might have benefitted from being spiral-bound, and suffers from a lack of contrast between black, dark gray, and brown pieces. Unless you're working under really bright lights, you're going to grab the wrong color piece a few times, and then have to backtrack later. Just accept it as part of the process. It's worth it.

Stars reflected what I thought of the whole set and it was well designed and built. anything lego is thought out well. Amazon price was steep so turned elsewhere and it was a bit less on hint e**y. returned and bought from e**y. I have bought a 1989 Batmobile kit that was a MOC kit from non lego parts but its not designed as well as this, the parts on MOC kit didn't fit as good as lego branded bricks. I was thrilled when lego came out with this set, I literally went and looked and saw and bought not realizing the price was better on e**y.

Got this as a birthday gift from my friends, apart from their obvious generosity, nothing can top this recreation of the iconic batmobile. The part count per dollar is great , the theme is great , the figures are necessary but are great , and the build itself is near perfect. If you are on the fence about this and have the money for it, I highly recommend purchasing as not only do you get an amazing build but a satisfying building process, the design team really outdid themselves.

No hay mucho que decir es un excelente lego en su momento llego algo dañada la caja pero amazon como siempre se hicieron cargo del tema y me ofrecieron una solución más que satisfactoria estaba a buen precio.

What a wonderful set it was fun and easy to build Took a lot of hours like 20 but it was fun Very solid and it looks great on display the scale is between 1/12 and 1/10 I will display it with my 1/10 Michael Keaton statue from iron studios It also comes with 3 lego character Vicky vale Batman and jack nicolson as joker which look amazing but they are obviously off scale with the batmobile. I’m very very happy with this piece
