Awful directions, but pretty easy to assemble and solid
I received my Timber Tuff TMW-10 Logging Saw Horse today. After reading all the reviews of nightmarish assembly, I was ready for massive frustration and a long painful experience. I agree that the instructions are ridiculously stupid, but a few reviews were quite helpful, and with a tiny bit of common sense I managed to put it together in about an hour. I was not "bathed in sweat" or "ready to throw it off a bridge" or anything of the sort. It was a lot easier when I followed a reviewer's comment to assemble one side of legs with the supports and then the other side, and then secure them together. I had the same experience as another reviewer when the holes in the support bar did not line up with the middle leg, but then I realized that the middle leg was not in the center! It is 13" from one side and 18" from the other side! So I turned the support bar around and magically all the holes lined up. This offset of the middle leg also means that the two sides of leg assemblies (with the support bars attached) are mirror images of each other and will NOT be identical. One middle leg will use the second hole for the diagonal support bar and the other side will use the third hole. Also, there are only 3 of the big bolts (14mm, not 13mm as stated elsewhere) so they go in the big holes that secure the two leg assemblies together. Overall, a pretty easy assembly process and the final product seems to be pretty solid and light enough to be easily transported to where the action is.

Great product, horrible process.
I love this saw horse. I hated the process of getting it into service. It arrived in a timely manner. Upon opening the package, however, I discovered that the assembly instructions were missing and the small plastic bag containing the hardware had been broken open. The hardware was loose in the box, shifting around as the box shifted. I called the company asking for a set of instructions, indicating that I was willing to purchase any hardware that might be missing. They promptly emailed me an assembly sheet which also contained a parts list. That's when the real trouble began. As it turned out several hex screws and nuts were missing. Further, trips to three hardware stores revelaed that the missing items were odd sizes. I was unable to get the correct size locally. To make matters worse, the assembly instructions were horrible. They consisted of a drawing showing what parts went where, but they were illegible in many places and it was impossible to tell which hardware items were supposed to go where during the installation. Thinking I could probably figure it out, I wrote to Timber Tuff Tools annd asked that they send the missing hardware. They did not answer. Eventually I made two additional trips to the hardware store, purchased wrong-sized replacements for the missing hardware, and put an additional three hours into figuring out how to put the saw horse together. Now that it is finished, I love it. It does everything the ads say it will do. Please be advised, however, that the assembly instructions are awful and you might experience very little in terms of customer support from Timber Tough. I have no problem whatsoever with the product and no problem whatsoever with amazon.com. I think, however, that I am probably done doing business with Timber Tough Tools.

Works well for me
I thought I would prefer something that looks more like my old wooden saw horse, but this is an attractive piece of steel. The advantage of steel seems to be that it can allow the cross bars to be lower and thus less likely to be damaged by my saw. The metal is harder and sharper than wood, however, and that could lead to the occasional gash if you have to load this on and off a truck and carry it around from place to place. Fortunately, I pretty much leave my sawhorse near the woodpile, so for me so far, it has only advantages compared to my old wooden version. Since it's higher, I can make a bigger pile of cut wood before i need to stop and clear the pike away. Also, the serrated edges help hold the wood more steadily. I purchased this instead of the similar product by T-Max because my Amazon Prime free shipping offset the higher price. The T-Max version has side cross bars. At this point, they don't seem necessary. We'll see. As some others have noted, this did not come with instructions. I went to the Company's web site, however, and sent them an e-mail asking for the instructions, which arrived within a few minutes by return e-mail. The instructions are only a slight help. Most of the assembly is fairly straight forward. The shorter cross bars go into the lowest hole on each of the main pieces. The tricky part is that, although there are a lot of other holes, the diagonal cross bar fastens with one of the longer set of screws to the same hole on the extreme lower right that the shorter cross bar does. If you do that, there are holes on the cross bars and the main bars that line up. It seems obvious that the larger washers go with the larger bolts in the central fastening (which is the only hole large enough for those bolts). Obvious to everyone but me, who thought they should go over the smile shaped swing opener, since it would get more use. When I had six washers left over that wouldn't fit on the main bolts, I realized my mistake. If you keep those two issues in mind, you probably don't need to e-mail for directions. Amazon says they have a new shipment coming in. Maybe these will have instructions included.

Junk Saw Horse
What I received was a box of junk. It was a box inside an Amazon box. The inside carton was used and taped on all sides. Only half of the contents were inside and it was evident the product was used and had been returned by someone. I purchase a NEW saw horse. This was definitely not new. In addition the instructions were missing. This was a Father's Day gift. I was never so embarrasses when it was opened. In trying to return this used product I was horrified to learn that May 20th was the last day for returns. Even though it was a gift.

Where are the set up instructions.? I received a bag of nuts / bolts and a lot of legs. If you're not mechanically inclined, 'do not' order this product.

You can bend the metal by hand.
Leg supports don't have slots cut where they overlap so it makes for shakey supports. Doesn't hold much more than 6" log. Cheap metal. Bent the teeth pushing the logs to the Center.
