Great photographs & cruise ship design history from the career of the industry's leading architect.
I have a library of over 100 books about ships. Without doubt this book has the most beautiful photographs available of cruise ships and ocean liners--mainly interior shots. It's narrative style outlines much history of Carnival Cruise Lines and some of its subsidiaries from the viewpoint of the main designer. To say that much thought and planning goes into the public spaces of cruise ships is a classic understatement. They must be both beautiful and functional. Joseph Farcus says it was "dumb luck" in the 1970s that sent him on his illustrious career as a designer of cruise ships. In fact, the lucky ones are the customers who benefited from his genius. This book makes my wife and I want to go on another LONG cruise in the very near future! 5 stars is too few!

I guess I thought this book would be about the designer giving a description and the choices he made of public rooms he designed on board the cruise ships.

Joe Farcus Carnivals architect and master of eye candy for all cruisers to enjoy
I have always enjoyed the detail & appointed design of Joe Farcus Carnivals and architect. When they retire a Carnival ship that was a Joe Farcus masterpiece it makes me sad. So I purchased this awesome book to have and treasure these ships & the rich history / beautiful photos. New age ships are stark and not as much detail .Thanks Joe for all your many long hours of hard work & design. Would love to meet you someday, I have so many questions.
