First, its the cheapest I found per ounce for quantities less than 5lbs. Actually to get cheaper per ounce bulgur on Amazon one would have to buy 50lbs. Brand I had never heard of. I hadnt eaten bulgur for literally decades so going on memory. This is finer grind than what I had long ago so cooks quicker and seems less chewy. Flavor is pretty bland, you may not notice it if not used alone. Seems fresh enough, no off flavors or smells. Clean. You can probably get rice cheaper, but rice, even brown rice zooms my blood sugar, this doesnt. Personally I eat it with lentils or blackeye peas which are quick cooking. Combined protein so more complete protein.

Love that you can make it by simply adding boiling water and letting it steam (like cup ramen!). Tastes great! Good Value. Very healthy

Great product!! My dad wanted wheat from Haiti and he cooked it the other day and this was fire!! Great quality and it brings so many health benefits. It has high fiber, protein, and essential minerals. It supports digestion, heart health, and stable blood sugar, plus it cooks quickly and makes a great rice alternative. It taste amazing!!

Many adventures with sources dropping it and finding sources, and then was astonished to find it right in my local supermarket shelf, current price $5.19 for a 3.5 lb. bag, Finest Brand, Finest Food Distributing. ShopRite goes back and forth between this and another supplier: Quixens (distributor and owner of Madame Gougousse brand). It seems to be exactly the same product from all these places. Conclusion: buy from Amazon, Nap Boule brand if you don’t mind paying more for a more reliable source, and more convenient delivery. —— Original review: I've been using this type of wheat almost daily for over 20 years, as a regular daily staple. Extremely easy to cook, very veratiel. Can be mixed as a base for many foods, as rice is. For example it can be the carbs to go with sardines, chicken, eggs, beans (lima, black beans), nuts, tomato. I like that it is extremely high fiber, but don't use with other very high fiber foods like lentils. Cooking: bring 2 cups water to simmer or boil. Turn off heat, add 1 cup wheat. Leave with heat turned off for at least 30 minutes. This is called "steeping or resting. You can keep it resting for more than an hour, several hours, etc. Makes little or no difference. ——— It seems many or all sellers of this product call it "bulgur", but technically "bulgur" means the fiber, or chaff has been removed. This is more accurately "whole cracked wheat" Because all the sellers use the word "bugur" for many very different products, it effectively has little or no meaning. Great price for quality bulgur. Bulgur is a low net carb grain with a great natural taste. I but these regularly.

I’m glad to be able to find this on Amazon. We usually eat it as a hot breakfast cereal. My husband grew up in Haiti and it was a staple for him, but our whole family likes it. It’s impossible to find locally.

This wheat is a good value, but it contains a considerable amount of chaff. It makes for sub-optimal eating.
