I installed yesterday and it took about an hour total. They are NOT OEM but work in place of OEM effectively. The original rubber top and insulator are not used. I removed the ride height sensor as recommended in many youtube vids however was able to take them out from the outside so, no need to remove. Installation was not difficult. The original lines have a mark for depth of insertion, FOLLOW THAT as a guide. Also, great to have two jacks...one for body lift and one to lift the lower control arm to make contact once installed so the bag fills properly. All in all....great value and doing the job. Hopefully will last for the next 5 years!

from Amazon Customer on April 20, 2018  These were exactly what the doctor ordered. They were a breeze to install and in my personal opinion the quality exceeds what was installed factory. I really liked the brass fitting in the spring itself. In the factory springs the fitting was plastic. The truck feels amazing now. This job was quoted $1600 at a local Benz shop which made me not even think about the dealer. If you have the capacity to change a flat tire you can easily perform this job for cheap.

originally though it was thinner than OEM but I might have been influenced by other reviewers. Easy to install except top plate does not hold in place since plastic thread immediately damaged, not an issue once the car seats on it but was difficult for single person to hold in place while at same time the compressor was inflating. 2 months in place, no complains. For the cost I would buy again.

Right rear air bag seems to be failing

I spent the money on these bags to save money at the dealership. They’re easy to install, however the O rings and the plastic fitting that hold the bag are junk. I had air leaked in both bags and no matter what I did I couldn’t stop the leaks. I ended up taking it to my mechanic and they had it for over 24 hours and multiple O ring packs, 400$ later and they could stop the air leaks.

So far so good. Holds air and ride feels like normal.The install is indeed easy but I gave it a 2 out of 5 star rating on install due to the frustration I had with the plastic pins not holding the unit in place. They seem like water bottle grad type plastic. Flimsy and malleable. The OEM plastic was a hard piece like lego plastic and super strong. There are flanges on both of them that are one way. Screw on the plastic piece onto the screw from the frame and then place the top of the bag onto the plastic piece/flange. The flange is suppose to hold it up and in place; the oem ones did. I had to break the oem ones off. The pieces that came with this just slid right off the screw!!!!!!!!!!After a day of frustration and wanting to do this right. I'm not betting my family's life on a water bottle piece, I went ahead and bough OEM ones from a local MB repair shop (they just gave them to me).I DON'T UNDERSTAND how this got so many positive reviews and NOBODY complained about this!!! Did all of you all not have a concern for your safety? Couple of comments said "even a women can do it", "if you can change a tire, you can do this"...... UMMMM.... if that is your only mechanical ability then I can see why you didn't notice this hazard; you're probably driving with the oem lugs instead of the shorter length spare lugs. This plastic pin isn't necessarily weight bearing like a bolt but it literally holds it in place before you lower the car. It also keeps it aligned to the frame and the lower control arm! High chance you will lower the air spring misaligned.Maybe i just got unlucky and all of you got real tough plastic pieces and I just got some made from melting water bottles cuz they ran out. lol. Other than that, no complaints. Quality seemed "good enough" and it's been only 7 days so....Good luck to you all!

Worked perfectly. Got quoted $1500 for both sides. Only needed one side. Easy install. Had to cut air line because fitting was not easily unscrewed like the new bag. Old bag slid right out. Gl550

Perfect fit, right off the bat. So glad we didn't spend the thousands of dollars the dealership wanted to replace these things. The fit is perfect, ease of installation is amazing!! The included instructions are perfect, just be careful with the fitting for the air hose, you can easily strip it (as someone else noted). So be gentle, it doesn't take much to make a tight fit.
