Girl Junkie: The Skirt Won't Chase Itself

Great read
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. The book flows really well and is both well-paced and interesting throughout. There is a healthy dose of humour and witticisms sprinkled in too. I laughed out loud reading the book on more than one occasion. The writing is particularly good at putting the reader in the author’s shoes while he is trying to seduce a new girl – discussing his thought process and why he decided on one course of action over another at key moments. One distraction, however, that should be mentioned is there were a number of typos. I came across almost 100 throughout the 500+ pages. This had not been an issue in the other books I’ve read by the author and hopefully the next volume will employ a stricter editing process again. (1)The title may suggest to some that the book is one dimensional, but plenty of other intriguing themes are woven in: the rise and fall of friendships with guys living the same lifestyle; some of the idiosyncrasies of the European cities travelled to; building a new business; and even discusses some of the conmen in the industry. If you enjoyed the first four volumes, then you’ll certainly enjoy this one.(1) Any typos in this review are pure accident and are not included for the sake of irony.

Darker and deeper
This is definitely my favourite volume of Krauser's memoirs. It begins with a melancholy moment as one of the most likeable characters from previous volumes, one that in fact made Krauser a more likeable protagonist, disappears. Krauser recounts as he begins to lose his purpose venturing into more degeneracy like vol 2, but this time with more skill and a much darker tone. The introspection is fantastic. It reminds me how brilliant and distinct each volume is, etching its own lesson and following a clear story arc. This volume explores what happens when you become an excellent gamer and start to get lost as to where to go next. Hurry up with vol 6!
