Decent punch for drip irrigation systems
In theory, you can press and twist connectors directly into the half inch distribution tubing for drip irrigation, either by hand or using a simple plastic tool that holds the connector. In practice, it’s not that easy, particularly if you’re installing it around existing trees and shrubs. This gadget makes punching a hole of the right size and depth in the right location simple. Including 10 “goof plugs” so you can seal any holes you no longer need is a very nice touch. There are pricier tools that also cradle the distribution when punching it or cutting it to length, but for me this works well while a box cutter works does the job to cut tubing to length.

Gets the Job Done
Easy to maneuver to punch holes. Both my 14 year old grandson and I used it. Simple and inexpensive. Very glad I didn’t spend the money for the expensive metal ones since I had limited use.

Dull, but still handy
This punch is kind of dull compared to a similar punch made by Dig, but it does the job as long as you don't have to put in a lot of emitters in a day (for that I'd suggest using a power driver with a suitable drill bit). However, the Dig punch doesn't come with the handy plug insert on the back of the tool, so I still prefer to use this one despite it's somewhat inferior punching ability.

Hole Punch
I found the punch difficult to work with. A tremendous force was necessary to complete the hole. One or two wouldn't be bad, but punching 80 was beyond my ability. I wound up using a drill ( manual manipulation) for the first hole, then used the punch to widen it. My hands hurt for a day afterward..Eri

Redesigned Product is Total Crap
This product is now one big fraud. I have used this product for years and it was wonderful. Note the photo. It shows a stainless steel point and it always came with a small hole in the handle which was perfect for inserting plugs, or dripper attachments. Well, the three I just ordered showed up on my porch today. All have a plastic point and a huge hole in the handle which is worthless. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It went from a 5 star to a no star.
