semi-functional
I got these in multiple sizes because it is unclear which goes with what size of prong. The number of caps is appropriate for the mid sized dogs (30-80lbs) that I used them on. I use Herm Sprenger prong collars and have had some issues with skin irritation. I purchased this brand due to lack of other options. They do help minimize the skin irritation due to the metal prong. They worked for 1 of 3 dogs I used them on. For the second dog I had to switch to curogan due to nickel allergy and with the 3rd dog the effectiveness of the prong collar seemed to be too diminished. They go on easily when you get to correct size. For the most part they stay on the prongs and don't slip off.I will keep these on hand as another option for skin irritation. I have only tried these on dogs with short fur I think longer fur may get caught on the rubber. In some cases I think the metal slides better through the fur and across the skin then the rubber tipped prongs. The majority of dogs I train I will not use these. If there is irritation I will start them out with the capped prongs then remove them as they get used to the collars.

These are perfect! Much better than the photo, and fit perfectly.
After almost falling, I decided it was time to get off my behind and start training my large and strong dog. Standard choke collars aren't always effective, and cause more harm to the pet and to the human (when the dog is large & strong). Having done obedience work/training before, I knew that "power steering" in the form of a prong collar was needed and much easier on my pet and myself. Since my dog is short haired and a show dog, I needed these tips to put on the prongs as I am not having to get through fur layers. My prong collar was custom made, so I needed to find a source for tips. These are perfect! Much better than the photo, and fit perfectly.

Nice tips for a small prong collar
These are the perfect little covers to go on a prong collar with 2.25 mm prongs. The dog I'm using the prong collar on is really fairly easy to control, and the pressure from the prongs is plenty. These tips keep the collar from hurting her. I think they also keep the cold metal from bothering her on cold winter walks. I ordered two boxes, and one box contained 20 tips (it's actually a box of 20, not 18) and the other box contained 3 tips (although the box stated it should contain 20). The box with 3 in it came from Seacorals and they refunded my money. Still, not terribly thrilled with Seacorals or the way they handled the complaint. YMMV.

Yes, they definitley work to dull the impact, but. . .
I tried these on the prongs but found that they really dulled the impact. I am now educated to know that the prong collar is actually safer than a regular collar with the distributed weight causing less damage, but like I said, I found that the rubber tips, at least for me, weren't really necessary and I believe I bought them because I just wanted to play it real safe with my precious 5 month old Lab.

They fall off
I think these are okay - I read at least one review that said they were were sharp, but I did not experience that at all. But I did notice they are easily falling off - and the only thing my dog really cares to chew on is just that type of plastic! Fortunately, she doesn't swallow them, but I can't get them back on the collar prongs and she mutilates them.

These work nicely to dull the edges of the pinch collar
These work nicely to dull the edges of the pinch collar, but I had to file down the sharper plastic seam on a lot of them. The item i received also only contained 19 covers, leaving one of the prongs only half covered, its not worth ordering a new case for 1 cover.

I have to say that I love them! They work really great
Just bought my second pack of those rubber tips, I have to say that I love them! They work really great. My pup is very sensitive to corrections, but a prong collar is the best training tool that works for us to teach my pup from right and wrong during walks. I only need to give very little tension to the leash, he will get it. However, with the naked prong and an excited pup, an over correction could be hard to avoid sometimes since he is very sensitive to the prong. Now with those rubber tips I bought for him, corrections delivered whenever I wanted, and he doesn't yelp anymore when the tension is a little bit much. That is said, I am very happy with this product, and definitely recommended it if you have a similar situation like me.
